"Walking out of that office...the weight was gone."
Simone tells her "Alma the Younger" story--knowingly going down a bad path in her youth, then eventually feeling perfect relief through repentance because of Jesus Christ. She shares her excitement for the doctrine of eternal families and urges us all to keep reaching out to the ones who are lost, never giving up on them.
"Having experienced life outside of the Church, and life in the Church, I can say from experience that I know that life is so much better. It's so much easier to handle trials. There's nothing that compares to the strength you receive when you have a relationship with Christ, when you are accessing His power, and when you have the guidance of the Holy Ghost. There are so many times in my life since coming back to the Church where I can just see--if I wouldn't have had my knowledge of the gospel, if I wouldn't have had the Spirit, if I wouldn't have had the strength that comes from the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ--I would not have been able to get through it. So I stay because I love Jesus Christ. I love what He's done for me. He's amazing. First and foremost is my love for God. That's why. But also, you can't beat the blessings that come from living the commandments! And they're clear as day. You can test it out for yourself. I know that obeying the commandments brings blessings and joy." - Simone Watson
