Yah, I recommend a deep dive into Roy Clark. He can do as well on virtually any stringed instrument, banjo, fiddle, acoustic or electric guitar, he's one of the best ever at each one. If you asked me I'd tell you that your next Roy Clark video should be Malaguena, in which he plays a Spanish acoustic guitar. There are several versions of it floating around KZitem, and they're all good. Then, I'd go for another piece that lets him show off his electric guitar skills and his sense of humor, with The Twelfth Street Rag.

Hee Haw was all about music AND comedy. I'm a Rocker thru and thru, but I was raised up watching this show. Roy Clark was a master musician, so it's no surprise that he kept up with Buck Trent. Hee Hee haw haw haw! Lol

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Roy Clark about 40 years ago, friendly, gracious, humble, I literally don't have the vocabulary to explain what an amazing man/person/human he was. If you want to see more of his "amazingness" watch his playing of the classical piece Malaguena on the Odd Couple. If want so more of amazing bluegrass watch Earl Scruggs and friends on David Letterman, it is jaw dropping

Roy Clark could play guitar, banjo, and violin, er, excuse me, the fiddle. There was an album called Roy Clark Live which was a concert at the Landmark casino in Las Vegas (which no longer exists). It's no longer available. I had it on LP, but no longer. The comedy bits between songs were outstanding! At the end of Thank God and Greyhound You're Gone he quipped that a bunch of International Trailways drivers took up a collection to bring her back! Then on side 2 he introduces a trio of songs and hilariously explains the different between vocals and instrumentals! The trio of songs were: 1) Under the Double Eagle on guitar, Foggy Mountain Breakdown on banjo (which he claims is the only instrument made in America, because this is the only country with enough nerve!), and 3) Orange Blossom Special on violin, I mean fiddle. We'll never see another like him! RIP Roy!

this was a clip form a national TV variety show called Hee-Haw (country music based). fyi SNL is the only national Variety show still on TV. so that kind of gives you what Hee-Haw was about but around country music. and it preceded SNL. the 1970s TV was full of these types of "variety" shows. easy on budgets easy to make than the drama shows since most where recorded live. so the preformers had a live feedback if something was funny or not. The Carol Barnett Show was the best of all of them and the funniest. one reason was Tim Conway. his job as he saw it was to get the others to break character all the time. and you can see in most clips the actors trying their best not to laugh at what Tim was saying or doing and try to stay in character. lol
