I learned nothing. Your advice was the same I heard from my 2nd grade teacher. But I did learn that the negative comments got to you.

"The emptiest drum makes the loudest noise". Before somebodies words can offend me, I must assign them value . That is a choice that I make, not them. When you ask somebody "So what happened to you today?" , the vast majority of their answer will be based on how various things made them FEEL. But few things actually HAPPENED to them. Did something physically touch them? Because if it didn't , did it really happen? Over simplified of course but it's freeing when you just let those things pass you right by. My content is music , so I've attracted my share of trolls over the decades . The only expert on me, is me.

Shane a small story for you. A young scholar in ancient Greece wanted to study under the greatest philosopher of the time, and on his final year before graduating his master says "for your final year of study, I wish for you to pay a coin to anyone that insults you for the next year". So the year passed and the student paid many coins. After his graduation he heads for Athens, the capital of academia at the time. At the gates of the great city was an old vulgar man, who insulted all the passer byers, and as the scholar approached the old man grinned and insulted him. The scholar burst into laughter intimately, the old man asked "what's so amusing?" the scholar replies "I've been paying for this kind of stuff for the whole year, it's refreshing to get it for free".

Bro, I am from the middle east, my country is 7800 miles from California. You dont know me but your content changed by life during really tough times as a kid 10 years ago. As well as you made me regain confidence even though i thought it was impossible during that stage of time. Your support helps a lot of us and we do really appreciate it

I am a PE teacher with 30 years experience and a sports person all of my life. My opinion is that your content is solid, you present it well and you have natural talent as a pedagogue. You have good didactics and your methods work. In life, unfortunately the Dunning-Kruger effect is very well spread and strong in society at large. I have learned a lot from your channel. Thanks and keep going.

This is my first time seeing any video of yours. I’m 54 yrs old and have been a martial artist for most of my life. Started in Gojo Ryu when I was 10 with my teacher Terry for a couple of years. In my late teens I studied Muay Thai and Judo with my late teacher D’kosin, Dewey Cooper was one of my classmates who now trains Francis Ngannou. Later on I focused more on western boxing in which I’m mostly self taught and later took Taichi with Tana Fransworth and Kung fu with my late sifu Steven Baugh. Roy Nelson was my classmate in there and later became an mma fighter know as big country to whom you may know or heard of before. Man, Mike Tyson said it best imo. Social media made yall way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it. As a gen Xer, I’m salty because we all had to earn respect only to be disrespected at almost every turn now by the younger gen. I would love to give you advice but we’re are in uncharted territory. In my early years in karate we used to do sitting meditation after every class. The answer is the question and they’re not separate. We’re always looking for answers, focus on the problem and the correct question and the solution is not far away.

As a Gen-Xer who grew up in the 70s and 80s, I received endless bullying and teasing. It got so bad that I literally thought the world was out to get me. If someone cut me off in traffic, or if two girls were giggling on the bus, I literally thought it was a personal attack, and my adrenaline would kick in and I would get extremely defensive.

My first introduction to martial arts was thanks to my dad, and he always told me something similar. "If you get into a fight because someone hurt your ego, you lost regardless of the outcome"
