Prices for a Studio Apartment from £860,000 and the best Penthouse is rumoured to be 14 million. Famous residents include Sting and Bear Grylls. The chimneys are new replicas of the old ones (which were unsafe). My father worked in the original Power Station Control Room as a Trainee in the 1950’s and I worked on the new construction for 4 years, very proud of the finished result.

badgastein2 - It’s my favourite landmark in London, I absolutely love it. Until 3 weeks ago, I lived in Pimlico for 21 years so visited it frequently from every conceivable angle! I’m a very keen photographer and I have more photos of this building than anything else - from 35mm film to digital time-lapses to daily snapshots during my daily lockdown walk during its reconstruction. I honestly can’t get enough of it. I booked the chimney lift experience for my birthday and Sod’s Law, that day (and only day) it was closed due to technical issues. It will seem strange for me to commute into London to see something that took me 5 minutes to walk to 😢 But I will and I know I’ll love it. I bet you and your father have some lovely tales to tell. I’m very jealous!

Went there a few weeks ago. In my opinion it’s an amazing shopping experience but all of the brands inside are high end. You need a lot of money to go shopping. This is either a destination for tourists or to cater for the rich locals of Chelsea, Belgravia and South Ken. If they really want this place to work and survive they need high street brands in there to fully embrace all customers who walk through the doors

I worked in the power station late 80s and they still had a contract to provide steam to the apartments and building opposite. A big gas/oil boiler was fitted into one corner of the main building that pumped steam under the river. Its been really interesting to see what's happened in and around it now. thanks for showing us round. 2x👍

Incredible building. I was up there last year and saw the build. Was snowing at the time. Freezing. What amazes me is that most people don’t give a second thought to all the men (mostly) who build these amazing structures. A LOT of hard graft. Up on the top of that turbine tower on scaffolding in icy freezing cold winds. Maximum respect to all the tradesmen and women involved in this project, a true masterpiece 🙌🏼

Flats in the new buildings start around £600,000. The suites at the top of the actual power station are currently going for up to £7,000,000 - that gives you something to aim for :P On the cars, Genesis is the upmarket version of Hyundai. The other one is Polestar which is the electric division of Volvo.

My Father was a boiler engineer at Deptford Power Station (gone now but it was down the river a bit further) and he always said how impressed he was with Battersea Power Station. Good vlog. Always interesting getting the everyday visitors view on what’s been done at the power station. A good overview. A couple of observations. You hear a lot about it being converted into a mall. That’s a shame and a misconception, albeit an understandable one. The retail bit is just 3 storeys out of approximately a 15 storey building (the number of the first lift to Lift 109 being the clue). The building also includes residential, a huge new hq office for Apple (opening soon), cinema (which you found), event spaces (for exhibitions, office parties, fashion shows, product launches etc), co-working spaces (like WeWork, but different operator) as well as being one of the largest heritage restoration projects in the Uk ever carried out. The retail is important because it means anyone can enter and see the majority of the restoration and experience the scale of the power station without paying a penny - well unless you’re in the market for a Swiss watch. Personally most of the brands leave me cold, like almost every airport terminal on the planet but destination retail was the only thing that would work here. The Boots etc are on the nearby local high street, which this isn’t competing with. I think this is competing with the Westfields of London really. Anyway given that the power station is Phase 2 of about 10 phases of work, I’d say it’s a good sign that it already has the atmosphere it does. I’ll never live there, but plenty of people do somehow and if it saved the power station I wish it success.

I would think that this completely re-vamped Battersea Power Station into a huge shopping centre is one of the (world's) most stunning buildings! It's completely and utterly a marvel of transformation from a run down eyesore to what it has now become. It's great to see some of the old electricity producing components amalgamated with the latest in modern designs of the building. The elevator into one of the chimneys is mind blowing, and the other new buildings in the vicinity of the power station are startling. I watched a short video of London in 1933 on KZitem after watching this one, and it showed the power station under construction, with just two of the station's chimneys completed. Anyhow, many thanks for producing this film, it's an excellent presentation.
