Tughlaqabad Ka Ujda Qila
"Hunooz Dilli door ast”(Abhi Dilli Door Hai) -Nizamuddin Aulia
Tughlakabad is one of the most imposing relics of Delhi's turbulent past, as well as the horror and valour of that age. The tale surrounding the Tughlaqabad Fort is fascinating.
Ghiyas-ud-din-Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughlaq Dynasty, is said to have wanted every labourer in the vicinity to help build the city-fort in 1321. During the day, the labourers built forts, while at night, they dug reservoirs.
The terrain on which fort was built is a part of Aravalli mountain range which starts from Delhi covering states of Haryana, Rajasthan and ending in Gujarat.
There were seven rainwater tanks in the fortified city.
The city of Tughluqabad is broken into three sections: Between the city's gates is a larger region with houses built on a rectangular grid. Bijai-Mandaland is a fortification with a tower at its highest point, as well as the ruins of multiple halls and a deep underground passage.
In India, the fight between the Sufi saint and the regal emperor has become legendary. The saint pronounced a curse that would reverberate across history till the present day.
