Dude, it looks like your walk isn't over yet, and you're still walking while editing that video. I can't even imagine how difficult and frustrating it must be to edit so so many pictures to that level of perfection... Thank you for sharing this video, and for being so honest!

I've been following you for a while now and I remember your original video back then. For me, this video was perfect, natural and real. The light didn't matter or maybe it did because it was real thanks to that. For me, it was a story about a young boy who set off on a trail, full of positive mood and on the journey, as usual, various things happened along the way. The film has a slightly sad message for me, it's about loneliness on the road, finding your place in the world. I don't see the bad light there at all that you point out. It's nice to listen to you sometimes. I'm waiting for winter to catch up on the other films I haven't watched yet. Good luck Chriss

Yo, Bolokok, I appreciate you saying that. I actually thought about it a bit and I think the reason why I am so critical of the old one is because I need to motivate myself to make something better. If I thought the old one was good enough I would not have the energy for a new one. Glad you liked it, and I hope the new one will be worthy as well. Best wishes!

Despite me not being there for the entire journey (I think I watched the first The Longest Way 8 - 9 years ago), it is still so amazing to see this project of a lifetime come to fruition. Keep in mind, your first video was posted during a time when youtube was alot smaller, and it still gained millions upon millions of views. Yet your video, to this day, has a quality of it that very few videos have reached. I am so excited for the video, I know it will blow up in a very huge way and while it sounds corny, I am happy that I can say "I was there".

Thank you for making the original video. I think I found your channel through that one, all those years ago. Just re-watched it, it's amazing. The thing is, you are focusing on production quality (and there may be things you could improve). But it doesn't really matter if your face is perfectly lit. The feelings it creates in the viewer are what makes the video amazing. It makes me FEEL the things you might have felt: Love, Friendship, Lonelyness, Sadness, Happyness and all those things. If you can do that again, if you can really nail it, your video will go viral again.

For me "The Longest way" is at the same time something grandiose, connected with traveling to unknown countries and different from other sketches, a personal spiritual journey. It's hard to convey, but maybe it's due to the well chosen music, thanks to which you can feel the elusive spirit of the 90s and early 00s. Cheers !

0:06 Great video Chris, I love it. And I saw it all, heard every word. I don't share your obsession with technical brilliance, but that's okay. Your thing. I'll just say that this obsession of yours is probably related to your ability to complete The Longest Way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not playing psychologist here, just want to convey my impression after watching this very interesting and funny video of yours.

By the way, actually drinking vodka the way you do is similar to eating noodles with garlic over it. For me, I don't actually expect that garlic to sterilize. It's more like having a stop on a bus ride where you can take a little break and change the flavors in your mouth. Then you can have a richer experience when you eat the noodles/drink again.

No, I didn't cringe! Been there, drank vodka, it's all good :) I started watching your video in the morning and finished now, it's 1 am What happened between start and finish was a surgery for my horse, vet came to our village and made a whole in her hoof to let out the puss, then it was a drug overdose (there are no horse vets in the country, so he just tried his best and made a bit of an anaesthesia mishap), she's old, and then I was getting her up and slapping her for hours until she came to her senses, and then we made her enclosure's bedding a meter thick so that she would break her leg if she fell. It's gonna take a while before we know if she pulls though her condition, it's pretty bad. I've been following your longest way since 2009, even though the country I’m in right now isn't in your Lightroom editing list :) And that's the essence of life for me. I come back to your videos, and in between them happens life. Peace
