Super helpful stuff! I wish I could go out more often and explore with Rockd, it makes identifying rocks so much easier!

Thanks! You totally can, you don’t have to just use it on hikes! It’s fun to just virtually explore different places too:)

Written in Stone is the best. A little book that speaks volumes. P.S. left handed people love geology 😊

I want to explore rocks and stuff like that :( but it really does take a lot of time to become, I wouldn’t say “expert” but practically an expert, in finding different kinds of rocks and finding Geodes

You can do it if it's interesting and fun for you! The fun part is the learning and the exploring process - don't worry about becoming an 'expert' - no one really knows what they're talking about 100% of the time :) and no one becomes an expert in anything right away anyway. Just start out by going on a hike/walk outside and reflect on what seems interesting to you - what makes you curious. Then dive into it a little more, chunks at a time.

I've been noticing a bit more variety than I expected in the small bits of rock which were brought to the surface when a well was drilled in my yard. Is there a simple way for me to find out what they are, and maybe estimate the depths where they were found? I wasn't so lucky as to be there while the well was being drilled.

I would start out by trying to find some public records of geologic maps in your area. Usually they go by state and you can search specifically for bedrock geology maps!
