No, his ranting makes his complaints look outsized and a wee bit insane, but they're COMPLETELY valid. y’all gotta review your ui/ux, maybe run it through user testing or open up a forum for users to discuss different areas of improvement/what you got right. Run through your target audiences, and maybe user interviews to fully grasp what your users want to solve the problems your product aims to solve. Your product seem really interesting and appealing, just gotta push the UI/UX teams just as much as your engineering and development teams. It would be a waste of your investment and your employees hard work to let your product not succeed because the UI/UX bottlenecks it/dissuades customers from purchasing your items in the future.

As a UX Designer I feel like this is a great opportunity to highlight the importance of design. Developers are not designers and it is not their job to evaluate user needs and implement features based on these. Maybe this company does have UX/product Designers but they’re stretched thin or maybe they don’t and are asking their developers to do an extra job they are not trained for. Either way it seems like a lot of this could have been solved with even a basic level of a Ux design process and user testing.

This is very clearly Taran being in the EXTREME 1% of users....and that's a good thing, we(LMG community) and consumers need someone who will take the time to be picky, careful, nitpick-y and most importantly, brutally honest. Thank you Taran for being that person, your passion and choice in efficiency is extremely niche and we appreciate you for it. I just think that if a company is designing a product, especially something that's marketed as a "creative console" with a $400-500 price ticket, then it HAS to be top notch! the UI should be(or at least be patched to be) better. The option for manual entry, even full(?) manual code entry should be an option. If you're a dedicated Hotkey, input design type of person, and you have the knowledge to do so yourself, you shouldn't be restricted to the UI at all IMO.

for 800 dollars...the price of an ENTIRE computer or an iphone...it should be a LOT better. I love the idea of the modular controller and I've used everything from Logitech's old g13 to an ableton Push to a ton of of midi controllers. Their GUI is horrible. Full stop. Inexcusable at that price point. I hope they can remedy and fix everything because it has a ton of potential.

Very interesting point of view and feedback on this product. Thanks ! I just switched from Loupedeck CT (2y trying very hard) to Monogram CC for a graphic design / video / music pipeline and see how it can help improve the flow. Loupedeck was an interesting idea, gorgeous piece of hardware, but with a weak software and update cycle... a real shame and letdown at this price range. Loupedeck : I waited for a major update to pull the trigger, they released the update, it changed nothing: still complicated to fine-tune, still laggy, still unstable (dead process to restart at least once a week), unnecessary large ram footprint... My strong hope is that Monogram will adress those software, ui, ux issues and deliver in helping creatives work faster and better. Finger crossed.

Serous question, why not DaVinci Resolve? Not your cup of tea, unfamiliarity of the tool, or something else? UI and UX of this settings app is terrible 😨 Adobe will fix their I/O API - haha, nice one!

I haven't seen many UIs worse than this on payed product. You have so many frameworks C++ to Javascript, christ we have electron where 6year old would be able to make better UI than this. I hope they have money to push through prototyping process to get to something actually useful, because there is apparently niche for it. It's like they started pulling in support for every program possible without even hiring UI/UX guy.

I said this as well, if they don't I will start a petition. Also I see the irony in asking for an unedited version of an editing hardware review and it only make me want it more.

Sure, you're a bit anal about this, but then again, they're valid points, and points that if fixed would make it a complete gem to work with, them not doing it is just a missed oppertunity. To me this also seems like great stuff, but then it's lacking and how you can configure it and how it actually works. I agree with the GUI stuff, and i do not understand why they did it this way, and why they embedded some things the way they did, why you cannot just stretch the extra windows so you can give it as much space as YOU WANT TO ! I don't have too many things i'd use it for, so it isn;t worth it for me in any case, but i like stuff like this. For some digital artists it would be great if it worked easier and better and smoother, but i am more of a tangible artist, as in pencils and markers instead of digital. Though i would LOVE to own one of those huge iPad Pros to draw on, and be able to use this with that. Not happening i'm thinking. And yeah, there should basically be contact pins on EVERY side, so you can completely build it the way you want to without having to puzzle it together to be able to use it.

This stuff is FAR too expensive and it's just bad for this amount of money. If I pay 400+$ only for the basic set, I expect much better software and a more fluently expierience in PS or other programs

I have a set of these and have sent them some of these kinds of feedback points, very happy to see them and more put out in public where they are more likely to get traction. Also really want this company to succeed because of the potential.

Ok so wait a fuckin second. Today I dug my old Mac out and used it for the first time in months. When Taran came with that Mac cleaning sponsor I was like, yeah no shit, google ads obviously new I semi-newly used a mac today, go figure. But… its a sponsor spot. Not an automated ad. Linus.exe im onto your snoopin ass.
