I remember one time I accidentally fell asleep during sophomore year (science fiction literature) when I was done with all my assignments. And in the dream, I was in the same exact class, same time, same clothes, everything. But I did the nose trick (which I do irl out of habit, which explains why I did it in the dream) and then I realized I was in a lucid dream, which was really weird. I did the usual stuff I do I’m lucid dreams, just fucking around and playing god. It felt like a whole school day. Then I woke up in class, and only an hour had passed… I was freaked tf out at how I perceived time.

Some people aren't just built for school, I know you didn't ask but personally for me, school 100% made me depressed. probably adhd or narcolepsy or something. the whole system of school was also really hard for me and i didnt lucid dream but slept through many classes to escape. I would be woken up by my teacher, called out in front of the whole class, embarrassed and thanks to my social anxiety, it would make me even more stressed, which would make me even more sleepy(i think i developed sleeping as a response to stress). I remember some days in class literally physically struggling so fucking hard to keep even one eye open. The pressure of the board exams, the humiliation i faced daily in class, everything went in one big stressy-sleepy cycle. i even had insomnia, i often slept at 3 am trying to get my work done with 7 cups of coffee in and would have to wake up at 5 or 6 to get ready the next day. each day was miserable. i would come home and immediately PASS OUT. like actually faint. I wouldn't even be able to shower on time or properly, leading me to develop rashes. My typical asian parents of course were not happy with this behaviour and instead of helping me, continued to stress me by reprimanding and scolding me, hence making me give into the stress-sleep cycle even further. The only thing I can hope you as a teacher understand is that, if a student who seems, not particularly bratty and has a shy type of personality, falls asleep often, they are likely extremely depressed, stressed, and suicidal. If you can, talk to them ( they might even cry in thanks, I know I would have because none of my teachers or counselors or even friends at the time understood what i was gg thru ) offer them some form of a break. (does not have to be official of course because of course schools hate the idea of students resting well during burn out). They might be having burn out after many assignments, or even just one assignment, in the end, i got into the school i wanted after that and am currently studying something much more engaging and rewarding which actually brings me a certain amount of joy to be studying. I'm fine, they'll be fine too, and if they're not, be the support they need if you can, and try to get them to seek out good support systems.

@@earthsacurse Same as me!!! I always hated studying for tests and going to school. I pretty much spent my whole high school smoking weed and drinking. Out of 6 hours, i usually went to school for only 2 hours, and those 2 hours i would spent getting high, lol. Most of my classmates also didnt go to school very often which demotivated me as well. After that i went to collage, but it made me very depressed bcs i just hated to study for something i have no interest in. Now i have a good job, and life is going in the good direction, im pretty happy with myself. Its not that i dont like education, but i just dont like to study for institutions where most literature is not useful and not interesting.

For me, it's not just "oh school is boring" or whatever, when I was extremely young, there were some traumatic things that happened to me which just implanted in the back of my head that school is bad, no matter what. You're saying that because one country lacks basic education, millions of children should be significantly hindered in their ability to express. All because *you* got lucky enough to get into a school that isn't complete azz, doesn't mean the problem is irrelevant. I also have the luxury of having a pretty good school, however, I struggle alot. What you've got to remember is that everyone is different, it's like taking a classroom of completely different children, with different skills, and passions, and forcing them to learn the same stupid thing. The only reason we do tests, the only reason we do homework is because it earns schools money. Why do you think schools put so much pressure on kids to do homework? Because it earns them money. Look it up, it's all true, and the sad part is, is because most schools are underfunded. I didn't even mention the worst parts. Bullying, teachers who don't listen, lunches that berly qualify as food, homework that was originally intended as punishment, embarrassment, stress, low grades, your entire intelligence level is based on a fvcking letter on a piece of chopped bark! Another thing is since I’m aware in my dreams whenever I have a bad dream or nightmare I can just decide if it’s too scary and wake up. This was a comment I posted from another video, same issue the lucid dreaming won’t stop and I can’t make it stop Caution to everyone doing this since no one is saying anything about it, please be careful about what you are getting into. I’ve been lucid dreaming for 9 years The first two years were amazing pure bliss and couldn’t get enough of it What was a gift will turn into a curse for some like my self It started around year 3 and I had lucid dreamed so often thaat I started to not being able to distinguish dream from reality. It was a hard fight, and i wwas going through a tough time in life and that’s when lucid nightmares started, I’ve been to hell for over 72 hours it’s not pleasant and I cannot stop lucid dreaming if I try it comes naturally because I did it so much, i now have insomnia and am terrified to even close my eyes at night, it’s taken a huge toll on my brain. I have to swallow loads of pain pill or get extremely drunk to not dream every night. Please listen from my pain and suffering, do this only sparingly do not get addicted to it like I was. This gift became a curse exploring the subconscious is extremely fragile. There’s so much more to it. I’ve been stuck for “days” in a lucid night mare that was only 6 hours of real sleep, please do this sparingly. Everything in moderation. I’ve contemplated ending my life a few years ago because they wouldn’t stop. One of the best things in the world to me became the worst. The subconscious is fragile do not abuse it, much love and safe dreaming

You have rare "gift" that turned serious curse. Years ago I was low-key obsessed with LD, and studied it and tried it a lot. Even the most experienced lucid dreamers have difficulty in acheiving it every time, and even WILD "experts" is not always easy for those who are good at that. I only ever did a WILD once. I hope you find your way back to normal sleep. It sounds like your lucidity is not fully controlled as well, since you are being presented "nightmares" you cannot control, not too mention the lack of deeper sleep because lucid brainwaves are not the same a fully sleeping brains. You might want to look into sleep clinics that know about LD issues?

I never felt like being part of it and always as Lucid tried to escape. I still get some after years of high school and only now I realize, after I discovered having ADHD that teachers never never actually cared about their students.

I'm still addicted. Sleep is my drug, I look forward to the long sleep inducing my vivid hypnagogic hallucinations leading into the most strange dreams I had full cognitive recognition of. I even have dreams of me dreaming which is always such a insane feeling waking up inside a dream. But its like living another life and they all blend together become indistinguishable at times leading to me disassociate during the day. Its my escape from reality. I take Melatonin, Benedryl and Kratom and listen to guided meditation all together. Sleep is the most important thing to me which can cause rifts in my relationships with my wife kids and family. If they interfere with my sleeping patterns and dream realm im typically not very pleasant lol.

I completely relate to this. I also look forward to sleep every night for the sole purpose of entering odd dimensions and exploring mysteries. To me, it is like a double life. I have my life here in the waking life and another life when I go to sleep every night. I have had dreams within dreams quite a few times. Always a breathtaking experience that cannot be understood and carries heavy symbolism that is incomprehensible.

i didnt know about lucid dreaming even though i just do it all the time, because i thought that's just how we dream. I kinda researched a little bit after I told my friends and parents about my dreams and experiences and they about theirs, which is where i noticed differences. Basicaly, i sometimes can't even differentiate between a dream and none dream apart from it being unstable which leads to layered dreaming so i have to wake up about 2-5 times in order to finally wake up in reality...

i was lucid dreaming since i was a kid, i thought all people dreamed like that. if you are wondering how i did it, i didn't read any books or tutorials on lucid dreaming, i just had a "imaginative" mind as a kid and still do(kinda suck because i still can't sleep in total darkness) and i would be able to daydream or imagine stuff whenever i want in real life but my parents had me sleep at 9pm so i would take my day dreaming adventures to my night dreams. there are different kinds of lucid dreams and there is definitely a sweet spot, almost always they are very simple with a little bit more free than real life, the most vivid example of such sweet spot lucid dream was probably when i dreamed as a kid that my balloon flew up and got tangled on the street lamp. i started jumping to catch it, at first it was a slightly higher jump than normal but with each jump i buit momentum and i would jump higher. eventually i was able to hump over the 1 story villas in area and i could feel the rush going up and the weightlessness going down. each time higher than the one before, eventually i would try to control the jump hight as i would jump too high and for too long but i didn't have total control and i would struggle a bit which all contributed to the "realism" of what i was going through. probably the best lucid dream i had, the first time i had it, it was so good that i repeated it for like 4 or 5 days eventually fighting other people who could do it similar to me, playing tag and all that good shit. and as it was a sweet spot lucid dream you can't force it if it's not in the mood so every couple years or so i might get that dream again and it's always a nice treat. there is also the half lucid dream which makes you either feel weird when you wake up or feel bad. because sometimes you can have a relationship which felt like a long time of a person you love and you recognise that you are in a dream every now and then within the dream but not totally so you truly have those feeling for that person and you still have those feelings when you wake up. or you can have a dream where you experience going through your parent's death and living through that sadness as if they genuinely died or a family member that died, or having a dream where you are unjustly wanted by the cops actively on the run. and just the same those emotions stick with you even after you wake up.

I remember learning a specific technique on how to lucid dream 1st time round without fail in college, the Psychology professor taught us, it involved a closing a door & having a dim light on behind it & look at it in absolute darkness for a few minutes, & then close your eyes & go to sleep, The idea was that it would act as a doorway for your conscious mind to be able to enter the dream realm, it worked for me & I was able to "Vanquish" a creature in a recurring nightmare I've had since I was 4, but I don't remember 1 VITAL Step in the technique for it to work, IF ANYONE Can tell me what it was, I WOULD BE ETERNALLY Grateful.

Literally it is the best feeling I’ve ever felt. I’d recommend anybody try and do it. Here’s the story if anybody is interested: I accidentally fell asleep after meditating one morning, yet had no interest in lucid dreaming or thought it would happen. Needless to say, you get a really strange feeling of euphoria the whole time. I wanted to just flow with the experience, so all I did was walk around my house. On another occasion, a similar thing happened but this time without meditating. In this dream, I woke up in school and thought it was real life. I was going around asking people to try and figure out if I was in a dream or not. I remember most of what I saw, unlike normal dreams, though don’t remember any sounds or voices at all. It’s a feeling way better than anything Marijuana or alcohol could produce. For context, they both happened within a few weeks of each other and I had been meditating on and off for about 1.5 years at that point.

Random story. Some years ago I learnt about the reality check thing and started doing it frequently. One night I dreamt I was taking class with my English teacher and she was teaching us how to fly on our brooms just like in Harry Potter, when it was my turn to fly I was like wait a minute this can't be real life and did the reality check. Thing is my hand didn't go through my palm so I thought wow this indeed is real life LOL. When I woke up I facepalmed really hard haha.
