Aka The Flailing Chicken same I have never said any secrets to anyone and I haven’t wrote it or hinted at it I’m quite good at hiding my emotions, which helped when loads of people have bullied me one person was that much of an asshole they bullied me about the suicide of my dad ,she said things like “I know someone who works for the news who will say it on tv” and she later regretted it when her dad passed and she wrote sorry letters so I wouldn’t bully her and my mum said I couldn’t even say anything to her about it,I wouldn’t say something bad i mean like saying “How comes now you are sorry and not before” then just leave and someone told me “At least I still have a dad” when he first insulted me and I said something back and without really trying to hurt him even though I really wanted to I made his gums bleed and he cried I got a red card and isolated from everyone at break and lunch for 2 weeks and he got nothing for it like everybody even my mum is also on the bullies side ,I think I probably have stress issues and depression from having to hide it all because it will just get thrown back in my face that’s why I have only told 3 friends about my brother and great grandad passing away which also adds in more depression and some suicidal thoughts which I’ve never discussed until now.

I can relate. As a child, I was always being told I was "too sensitive." I would cry very easily. I still do. When I was a kid, I would cry just from my family singing happy birthday to me. Didn't help that I was deathly shy, which people always take the wrong way. I've been called a bitch more then once because of it. :-( But I am a highly sensitive person. Some may even say somewhat empathic. Things like music, dance and art have always moved me very deeply. I would be the person in the audience at a symphony with tears streaming down my face. That's just who I am and I'm ok with that. Sure, being able to feel things on a deeper level then most can be quite challenging, but it's better then not feeling anything at all. :-)

For me personally it helped just ignoring them. Not saying anything, not reacting, not even looking at them. They get bored of you then and will stop at some point. I get that you're sensitive, I am too, but when you show them that they're actually hurting you they'll keep doing it, cause that's exactly what they want to see. They want a reaction. If you don't give them one, like I said, they'll get bored eventually. Other than that I'd recommend telling your parents or a teacher you like, maybe they can do something about it. You're not alone with this, okay pal?

@Blue Sea i’m not saying this necessarily happened to Joel, but certain types of heterochromia do make it possible to lose pigment in your irises as you grow older, so eye colour changing from brown to blue can happen. my eyes used to be completely green/hazel but now i have light blue patches in them where i lost my melanin from my partial heterochromia.

To me, it looks like the lighting and quality of the old photo. Light can pretty significantly effect the way eye color looks, especially in photos, even more so with lighter eyes- they can seem darker if the lighting is poor. I would obviously assume his blue eyes are natural because brown eyes don’t turn to blue at that age, so that’s all I can imagine is going on... My eyes were dark blue as a kid, there are some photos where they look so dark they could’ve passed for brown just based on the photo.

I was bullied too actually and I had a very similar experience to this with my bullies which whenever I tell people, they always say me to let it go. But I feel a bit better to see Roomie telling his story. You just can't let something this traumatizing. Being attacked by your peers mentally or physically is really traumatizing. Now thinking back I can't understand why I did a couple of things back then which I could have avoided some damage but I was too naive, I guess. I also experienced a similar thing to the rock story but reverse. My bullies try to hurt me with kick and punches, and to stop them I tried to splash some water like you generally do to the cats but my bottle had literally no water in it so it probably never get to them anyway. But this didn't stop one of the bullies to pour a bottle of water from my head and I went home soaking. Everybody on my school bus asked me what happened and I was just crying. One of the worst days of my life still. The funny thing some of the students in my school bus was a friend to the bullies and they even couldn't understand the logic after attacking me. I was too quiet and naive back then. And I can't agree more about the teacher thing. Teachers never gonna help you to get through your bullies, even if you lucky they just don't do anything. Cause sometimes, teachers are bullies too. Well, they made me this way now, I wish they try now to do those things. When people look down on you, you should start to look down on them too, I had bullies in high school too and I can't even say that they were bullies. They were just... Trying to annoy me but I was annoying them more by avoiding their existence and being successful at grades. They can't deal with that, you don't need to cuss or attack. Just use wise words enough to get them annoyed. To make it easy, be more mature than them. Cause if you look closer, all bullies have a similarity about not being mature enough.

Mine was actually worse, I was born in the UK but my parents are Chinese from Hong Kong, which was part of the British colony at the time. As I was growing up, most of the kids and adults would yell at me and my family “go back to where you come from!” Well I was born in the UK so I was home. The kids would vandalise property, steal from our property, attempt to assault us, at one point I thought I was going to be killed. It has gotten better around 2005 when all other nationals started to come in to the country, but I’ve always been a loner. I HAVE NO FRIENDS!

When I was bullied last year, I threatened them that I have a gang (which I do) and I will call them to beat them up, since then they picked on everyone except me. Let's go!

i was also bullied as a kid, but what i did to overcome it was become stoic to the point of barely felling any happiness or sadness. I'm 21 now and i still find it hard to show emotions.

Please please make a video about how you changed your attitude and what changed about your attitude that got you lesd bullied? I think that would be so interesting to know, and also really helpful to me and some others.

You made me realize that I had a similar thing going as you did with Johnny (or what ever). I told things with confidence to my friend and expected to have a response to that but the guy just told the "cool kids" and then they laugh at me and I heard the same thing over and over at least a year. This also enhanced the isolation between me and other kids. Even some girls repelled me. When I was a little older in the final years of the school I had the courage to start talking to the good girls in class and it made the last years a little better. Back to Johnny.. I stopped hanging out with my "Johnny" and haven't much seen him since. I just thought that he was a d*ck after all but you now made sense what was going on. So thanks for that! Sometimes I feel that I've cured from that period of time but I can see that I still don't trust people. I like to keep my circles small keeping only the people I truly trust. So no one could hurt me.

I was the same way. Super sensitive, I hung out with the girls and not too many boys. I was picked on for being sensitive and basically the exact same story as yours but I didnt have a friend who would make me look bad to better himself. I had a friend who made me look bad to a point to me and then she taught me how to fix it. I stopped being sensitive and grew up and toughened up.

I didn't expect this relatable content at all. I went through a very similar thing from the ages of 4-9. I'm a girl and my only friend was a boy, I was wierd (still am) and anything could make me cry too. One time a girl came up to me(she was a frequent bully) and said I had grandma nails and proceeded to bash me over the head with a planner. While she laughed I was crying, and I had started when she had said I had grandma nails. I seriously had no backbone. They didn't talk to me except to harass me and make me feel like shit, and they didn't just verbally bully me, they did it physically too. It's terrifying how little kids can do this, and it makes you think what had inspired them to. Was it general? Issues at home? Or had they seen an older kid doing it and made a subconscious decision that it was something good. I personally was going through a lot of issues myself at home, which made me mentally more vulnerable, as well as losing possibly the most important person in my life to me at age 7, the person who had helped me the most through the bullying. I developed trust issues as well as depression and anxiety after some only slightly different problems at my second school, and eventually became homeschooled due to that and the possible threat of a 10 year old committing suicide. If you're going through the same I or Joel went through you should definitely get help. I've not put my sob story on the internet for no reason. Don't feel pressured, I'm certainly not trying to say that you should just go to a random "psychologist" and pay a fuck tonne for "treatment", but I am saying talk to someone and make sure you feel safe and that they can be trusted first. Some just label themselves therapists and psychologists, very few that is, but think about this. Why would someone go out of their way to make their job in society to help others by giving them advise and soothing their mind if they didn't just want to help. Don't make the same mistake I did by not letting people in and help you.

When I went to school they taught us how to deal with these problems starting as early as kindergarten. We were taught that tattling was a good way to get your ass beat... it was only okay if someone might actually die (I'm paraphrasing) and that words only hurt if you don't have a good comeback (again, paraphrasing.) I think this was how we all learned the unwritten playground code and settled our problems without adult interference. We had fist-fights at the bus stop when we couldn't work things out and we had rules so no one really got hurt, (black eye at most.) Nowadays kids seem way too sensitive and over react with violent outburts after letting things build up. Sometimes letting kids fight smaller battles on their own can stop them from raging an all out war later on. Coping skills are important.

Some people might think a pinecone war is weird, but at my school, we did stuff like that all the time. There was a time when we would always have acorn battles, and there were a bunch of kids who played sports. I wasn’t playing, I was just eating soup, but one of them threw and acorn at another kid, but it hit me in the cheek. I then proceeded to attack him. This was very random but I just kind of related to the pinecone thing on a personal level

I was bullied all throughout my school years until I started college and when I finally told the assistant principal she talked to us calmly in the office and suspended her for 3 days and when she got back it got worse and her friends started helping bully me. I wish the principals and teachers would do a better job at preventing bullying instead of pretending like they are because what they are doing isn't helping and it made my anxiety so much worse than it originally was. I was also very sensitive as well and I still am sensitive because my feelings can get hurt easily and I worry too much.
