what i love about the game is its really fast paced, but the inputs are simple enough for even fighting game-newcomers to get into it. Also, the first game struggled with being a bit bland because there werent really any unique mechanics. Now, we have the 3-charge-guardbreak, the counter to it that also takes a charge, you taking additional damage if you overuse those AND meter moves. Now its not super complicated, and not super hard to learn, but JUST ENOUGH to keep being interesting. Big fan of this game, and if i had to recommend a fighting game to any non-fighting game player wanting to get into them, its this one for me now.

I agree, it’s easy to start for beginners, but difficult enough at high level for fighting game vets to appreciate

Really? It’s fast paced? I look at it and it looks slow as shit. Like yeah not like Samurai Shodown slow but not crazy fast either.

@@JcgLounge The lower ranks are fast because everyone commits to rush down and most people do not respect the other persons space, basically no danger sense. The higher ranks start slow as you feel out your opponent (Character can change this) as you play neutral. Overall the meter is fast charging and playing vs watching the pace feels different. What fighting games you normally play also really skews your view of things.

True this. I'm not into fighting games. GBVSR is the first one I've had any interest in since Street Fighter Third Strike.

Happy to see a based content creator get into the game! Keep enjoying yourself, and improvement will come naturally! As for tips, here's my biggest one: Anti-air habitual jumpers! The skies are considered sacred in the Granblue universe, so teach them jumpy fellows why with a good ol' c.H!

Its kinda funny cause some of the gbvs players hate how aggressive Rising is when this is pulling in all the people that didn't care for the first game. The age of Aggressive Offense is here boii

I usually use poke to sheep as well or poke to burst/guard break combo mid-screen to corner carry. If you have 50% bar, you should use the ultimate version of the sheep skill since that's like a guarantee win in neutral.

Remember to end your 3 hit auto combo by canceling into a special move

It’s definitely worth the buy if you have the $. I also played vanilla and actually really liked it, but netcode was terrible and no one was playing. As a rank C I think my ranked matches were still against A and above almost always. Now that it’s got a bunch of players and solid netcode, it’s a great time to play.

I'm also playing anila this week. My combos are basically auto combo into U, d.U, i haven't figured out how to use hop effectively at all. I've just been living mediocre neutral and landing a high percentage of anti-airs and just confirming into L DP. I was playing Zeta last week, because she was on free rotation

What I have been doing is in the corner do auto combo into hop and if they don’t DP and jab, you can steal a turn. Most of them don’t know so they just stand and take pressure. Probably not optimal at all though 😂.
