Yes, we’ve visited Badlands quite a few times and Wall Drug is always fun! GAIA maps have really accurate public lands overlays. That could minimize BLM anxiety. Yes indeed I’d camp there! Thanks, Scott! BTW, I’m looking forward to your next WUW with Terry.

No, to your question as I have not visited the Badlands National Park. I am not a boondocking camper, but may put it on my travel plans. Enjoyed this video very much with you sharing your BLM camping and the location and the website. I like the 5 cup coffee maker you bought from Walmart and may buy one. I boil water for my instant coffee. Scott, some questions to ask your viewers. 1) How many hours do they drive in one day in their camper van not cars or trucks. I think I am on the road too long. 2) How many miles do they drive in one day.

Oh lord. Half of me wants to warn people off wild camping as it’s very dangerous with thugs and murderers everywhere. The other half wants to urge people to wild camp because its the greatest way to see the beauty in nature ( he says camped at 10,000 feet by a burbling creek in a national forest ). Now the ultimate urban KZitem camper has discovered boondocking there goes the neighborhood! Good video. You are doing the right thing encouraging the fearful. It’s great out here. Perfectly safe and relaxing.

Yes, been there, done that, and loved it. I had a rainstorm that made the area a bit muddy, but it dried before I had to drive out on that potholed dirt road so no problem. Great location. I read somewhere they're marking off campsites there but I didn't see any evidence of that in your video.

Nice report / video Scott. We stayed there last year for three days. I watched the guy from the Insty Connect internet access system via cell towers, and gave directions on how to find the spot. We have been able to find lots of BLM land easily, but some did take some work. I use an app created by the couple that run Mobile Internet Resources, called US Public Lands. You can do a satilite look at the area you want to stay, and if the overlay for public lands is green for that area, then it is public land. I will see if I an email you a picture of what the badlands location where you stayed looks like. Good luck and I hope this will help you find boondocking spots, as we too enjoy staying on BLM / Public land. Your beer buddy from Madison Wi.

That was so AWESOME! Badlands has been at the top of my list and something I really want to do before the end of the year. I hadn’t even thought about overnighting there but you sold me! One of my goals is to get away from my dependence on staying at a campground - a lot of it has been because of where/when I’m traveling so really wanting to change that up.
