I've walked over that bridge 1000 times and I'm the same - I never go NEAR the railing! I always imagine what it'd be like to go to the top of the towers! My parents crossed the bridge on opening day in 1964, cheers for sharing Roger, what a day :)

Thanks Steve. I’d love to walk the other bridges too at some point. Not sure that’ll ever be possible. 🛤️

Another great vlog, Roger. You handled the bridge walk fine! Agree though the railing could be higher! Best bit of the vlog, was the views from the train on the journey back to Edinburgh. Another glorious day as well!

Thanks, mate. Definitely worth doing but stay away from the edge if you’re afraid of heights! 😀

Stumbled across this video just one day shy of a year to the day when I did this walk! It was much higher than I was anticipating, and getting close to the stanchions felt weirdly unnerving. I crossed on the other walkway as the western one was closed that day. I was exhausted after walking it and didn't know why...until I got home and still felt bad and realised I had covid, so I was glad I didn't bump into anyone during my walk! It was a very grey day when I did this walk so I'll need to do it again in the sunshine!

Definitely worth doing on a sunny day and when you’re feeling fine! I’ll probably go again if I can get on the side overlooking the Rail Bridge! Thanks for watching. 😀🚈

I've done this quite a few times as last year walking from South Queensferry to Dunfermline, mainly the Eastern side although once on the Western side. I agree it does feel strange/nerve racking at times walking right by the edge and especially when cyclists and maintenance vehicles go past even though there us a 15 mph limit for cyclists. You can briskly walk it in half an hour though.

Funny but I only saw about 3 cyclists during the time it took to cross. There was a digital sign at the start of the bridge saying how many cyclists had been over the bridge that day and since the start of the year. The latter was just over 4000 which I thought was quite low.

It's only 150 feet drop not 208. 150 drop, 70 mph. 5.6 seconds
@RogEdwardsTV only one person, a female , survived the j8mp. The navy and coast guards etc were waiting on her jumping, poor lass and plucked her out of the water straight away. Her injuries were undisclosed .. you should read.a book called the jump. By doug Johnstone. Based on true story. . I have been in the tower on the rail bridge when I worked with scotrail.. waw. It's amazing. A d windy, you can see fife. Love ur vids BTW.
