Where is the place you camped in it? I think it's near where I live. I'm from Bizerte too but not from the center of the city, I live in a little town far away about 30-35 km . It called " metline " contains a wide forest like you camped in this video and a good sea called " jwebi " you can search about and watch some videos about it. Hope you have nice days in our country. @20CamelsEmily

No, camping is not new in Tunisia. It is perhaps even older than in the United States and many countries in the world. However, under the Ben Ali era, the security hold on the country and the police's policy of intimidation dissuaded an entire generation from leaving their homes. Tunisians ans especially young people rediscovered this freedom after the 2011 revolts. Really nice video. Thank you for charing these moments.

Hi Emily, I just came back from a Tunisian cooking class/group. I thought of your videos. It was similar to the stuff you had at the family gathering video. Forgot the names of the recipes (forgot the recipe papers). We made a simple smoothie of milk, bananas, and dates. An egg, chicken, potato combo baked in a pan, and some cold veggies with hard-boiled eggs and tuna and a carrot, potato salad (lots of potato peeling and chopping.) Thanks for the videos, keep'em coming.

Okay, you mentioned that the group is experienced, but their music and noise at night will agitate the animals, causing them to flee the area and move directly into nearby populated places , this happen many time last time a 5 year old kid was killed by a wild boar and her kids (overrun)because some idiot played darbouka in the forest i'm pretty sure this near Bizerta/bizerte

Just wanted to mention that Tunisia has a huge sense of natural preservation and as muslims we're obliged to not exploit or ruin the eco system. The fishing and hunting "just for fun" is highly disliked in islam and forbidden by God, but sadly it's still common in some muslim countries. My uncle in Tunisia also often goes to dive for octopi and squids, but he takes them home and he or his wife prepares them for food. Hunting birds for eating is also kinda in a grey area, since it's not really necessary with all the food and meat all over the country. Of course it's different when you're very poor or live in very rural areas, than you're almost forced by the circumstances. But hunting just as a sport or hobby is haram 👎
