11:07 Thats really weird. That hotel usually gets a lot of visitors from Deutschland and Dänemark 😀. We host our guests there too! Never offered us a cake. This video took me back in time, though. I started with Digital Marketing, somehow ended up working for the world's largest beverage brand in sales (which I felt was a mistake initially only to realize what I had missed), and back to hybrid Marketing now. The locations that you visited, both Khed Shivapur and Mulshi are major developing manufacturing hubs around Pune. I am into motorcycling, so that once in a week ride to the manufacturing facilities used to be joyrides. I also got an opportunity to explore industries across Bonn-Cologne-Dusseldorf-Essen a few years ago. The sharp contrast in work cultures, health and safety and processes was nothing more than an eye-opener. Digital makes you self-reliant, and manufacturing teaches you empathy.

You seem to have made peace with the idea of joining family business for personal reasons but since you discussed it in open I would like to share my opinion as I was the same not wanting to join the family business. (I couldn't as my understanding of this changed/happened too late) _Note: Forgive me if all this sounds like you already have thought about._ 😬 I think the societal view on nepotism is very strange, which makes us think far more negative about it from the get go. But until someone is in it, they won't really know that nepotism is quite nuanced. The amount of people who have no interest or have no desire to work and join the family business to do nothing are a different category that we do not like to be associated with but that becomes the poster child for nepotism. People like us who like to earn the reward, the ones who do not like being handed down the rewards work differently. Even though you are just dipping your toes, if you wish you can change your opinion and look at it as a way for personal growth and company expansion. You can start by learning at whatever level you feel like, understand it well and use your expertise to help it expand. Your starting from scratch doesn't have to be literally zero to make it $100 but it can start at $100 to make it $300. You don't have to build the foundation but you can start by studying the foundation and other levels as you slowly reach the top level understanding all the levels and preferably working at each level to some degree. This helps with personal growth as you very quickly grasp the idea of how to grow a business, most people have to work for years to reach a level where they understand the economics of growing and scaling a business, you have the opportunity to reach that stage fairly quickly by helping scaling and expanding as you learn the company and its working inside out! And you don't necessarily have to work full time on it, your dipping toes can slowly expand to part time when you know where you want to work in the company than being handed a position which makes you feel unworthy. Obviously, it being a family business in need of someone helping out you have to handle far more higher level responsibilities but you can also choose to actively learn/study/work at all levels to make yourself worthy of the position you are handed, by really knowing you deserve to be there. Phew! That was a long comment, I'll get off my soapbox now. 😆 I wish you good luck and what a fun trip especially the mini hikes and the post monsoon vibe! ⛰ I think I have seen tourists being flocked by many Indians on the street asking for a selfie so the photo of you being fed might be just a better version of that I think! Or maybe she made the cake or had custom ordered for you and wanted that photo to share with others! 📸
@hnnhml
14 күн бұрын
Oh wow thank you so much for sharing your thought and tips😍 and i agree, not all nepotism is created equal..or however you say:D but for me thats not the main reason for me not wanting to work on the company 100% - the main reason is the lack of fascination with the industry.. but we’ll see where time takes us:D And yeah the photo thing happened to us on the streets as well, which i kinda get thought given our very touristy looks haha, just the feeding part did surprise me a little..but yes i’m sure it was meant as a nice gesture:) I’m happy you enjoyed the video🥰
