Chris, I have not been on the KZitem as much as I would have liked this past year or so dealing with some unexpected health issues, but I still have no excuse for not watching my two favorite train guys together in one video! I have watched Jason, like your channel, since the beginning. I might add this to your video about the health of the model train industry, Jason alone is keeping the industry going with a layout that encompasses about 3 of mine…might have to add a second level to mine where the train just drops off the second level onto the first level and pray it hits the tracks and not the Menards Taco Bell 🥴

Awesome to see my two favorite train KZitemrs together. Maybe some day I’ll start my own channel about my layout. Does the GE 44 Tonner have 2 motors? Are its motors any smaller than the ones in the larger MTH diesels? While the real life engines would have different pulling power I would expect the MTH engines to all be pretty similar if they have the same CAN motors & they all have traction tires. Maybe some differences in gearing could affect that. It would be an interesting experiment to compare pulling power of different engines.
@RBPTrains
2 жыл бұрын
You should share your layout here on KZitem as well! The 44 Tonner has two motors. I would need to open it up to see how the motors compare to the larger diesels but this engine can pull despite is size and weight! Thanks for watching Hybridbear!

Hey guys enjoy you both,I’m actually gearing up to build a new layout .I am in the process of designing it on scarm.My room to work with is going to be 28x40 ft and I am going to go all out.I noticed on all these train channels nobody ever talks about what it costs to build a set up like you guys,I’m not talking about scenery part ,just bench track and power.Is that something you guys would be willing to do?I guess a good example would be what both your layouts would cost so people could really know what there getting into Thanks fellas
@RBPTrains
2 жыл бұрын
You are going to have a huge layout! What an incredible space. Estimating total cost of ownership for a layout is tough as everyone's layouts are so different and the amount of materials used varies from layout to layout. I completely agree with you that it is a topic that deserves more attention as this helps with planning and scale of a layout during the initial design phases. Thanks for watching and enjoy the build of your new layout Patrick!
