@zachpercival9464 , it is very difficult to enter this market by car. On the Moscow ring road there is a traffic jam in 6 rows for 20-30 minutes. Although there are only five lanes. Even the global reconstruction of the interchange in this place did not help much.

If you ask around a bit, I bet you'll find they have a dawn market (opening anytime from 4 to 6 AM) -- an 'off-retail' shopping time because it's the 'wholesale' market for the entire country where retailera come to get their gear (real 'gear', not the UK euphymism for drugs).

There is no digital ID cards in Russia (while there is discussions about), so the passport remains the most important document of Russian citizen. Generally issued upon growing to 14 years old. Get replaced for free at 40 years old, and, if I remember it right, at 60. At other occasions (if you loose it or, for example, change your name) you must reissue your passport and pay a toll for the procedure (not much but still). This is why most people prefer to cover their passports for better safe. And you can also carry some small things inside. Driving licence or something alike.

Too overwhelming for me. I bet if you knew what you needed and where it was it would be a great place to shop. Is there a reason why the malls are so large? Do you have to go to these places to buy your goods or are there any stand alone one shop stores spread around? I’m getting cold just watching this video.😂

I think Russell misunderstood the idea of this market. Main purpose of it is small wholesale. For example, if you own a little Cafe inside Moscow or other town in the Moscow region, you come to Sadovod to pick up your 10 tablecloths, uniform for your 3 waiters or artificial plants to decorate your business or Xmas tree and lights. The same with clothing. I know a girl who rents a shop space in Nicholskaya street (between Kremlin and old KGB building))) and she picks few items made in China that look like brand pieces and resell them for higher price🙈. No well-to-do moscovites would drive so long outside the city for a pair of gloves or a bed linen set. So this "market" idea caters for the city shop owners. Personally I don't like markets, the quality is poor in most cases and of course all the brands are fake.

But if Nike make their socks in China, does it make them not original. Whereas the socks with a Nike logo on in this market from China are then non original also. ? There are markets like this all over Russia, of course a lot are smaller than this. I even have one 10 minutes' walk from my house.
@lenamelnikova8977

@TravellingwithRussell There are no original branded things in Sadovod, whatever a stall keeper says))). That's the reality. Such markets exist everywhere, I have seen them in China, Turkey, Malaysia, even in Cyprus and Rhodes (Greece). Also in New York back streets one can get a fake Chanel, Dior or Gucci for a fraction of the price.

@TravellingwithRussell True, most brands, if not all, nowadays have their production facilities in Asia. But only sold in official stores got the right to be called the "original". However, in our crazy world, sometimes the quality of a fake is better than the original's one🤣.

A few years ago I was in conversation with a man who was very familiar with China and HK. He said that when a factory owner gets an order from an upmarket famous brand, he'll deliberately produce more than the order, and he'll quietly sell the excess, which ends up in markets all over the world. ie often the market dupe is the same quality as the 'orginal'.
@leozackdestron1574

Nobody at fault if a buyer don't know how to recognise good quality from poor one. Many internet shops sell fakes as well, Sadovod is no worse than any other place in general.
