As a windsurfer myself, I really enjoyed your fun adventure. A big thank you, Henry.

This is outstanding. Thank you for sharing the experience. Loved the cameo from Ptol at the end. How do you make a decision on how to cross the ships? Not something you get wrong more than once.

Nice to see Bembridge… learned to sail there in the 70’s! Fun to ride on the board with Henry!

Nice one Henry. I noted the big gunboat (catamaran) and a smaller tri ( not seemingly a dragonfly) flipped during the RTIR flipped but not sure which was the 3rd one that capsized.

Enjoyed watching this. In my youth I did a lot of windsurfing off West Wittering. …..but not sure how wise to sail well offshore especially crossing shipping lanes. What happens if you have a gear failure? That’s a verrrry long swim, or more likely ditch the rig and paddle back. I have had to do that when only just outside a big break at Bigbury, with a strong offshore wind. A paddle strapped onto the board would help.

Hi Henry, Pretty cool how is it you don't wear a hoodie or helmet, What is the water temprerature , and grade of your wetsuit? If you don't fall in often do you overheat and do you have to get wet on purpose to cool down?

In the summer easily warm enough on south coast. I wear a 5/3 mm.

You chose to sail where others with small boats would NEVER consider. Cheers mate .

Excellent video. I can report all aboard Coco De Mer were retrieved from the drink and no injuries sustained…

Nice one Henry, it’s a fair trek across to the island from there, and getting into Bembridge in a westerly is always a pretty “inglorious” experience! Here is earlier in the day, kiting with the fleet after the start, at Gurnard: kzitem.info/news/bejne/r3uwqIydbZWEhY4

Radar reflector …should be up high, a waste of time tied to your board.

also those tube ones don't produce a great return even when up high, particularly if not oriented vertically - for a meaningful return you either need to go bigger (presumably not great for aerodynamics) or much heavier (and very expensive).
