We sure will! We have 4 more interviews already recorded, with maybe more in the pipeline. Stay tuned!

That was great information! I've been in theater for decades, but the little film extra experience I've had only taught me to "shut up & don't make waves". Great questions, Matt. You really helped Tom open up!

Great series. Thanks Matthew for doing this. I'm Learning a lot. One small thing: the interviewee should be heard more than the interviewer.

Roberto, thanks for the feedback. Believe me, I can ramble. I did edit out as much of me as I could without losing context. And for this particular interview, Tom turned it into more of a dialogue, because he was just as curious about the actor's POV as I was about his. But I hear you on the note.

Is there a list of the different lenses that the DOP's and camera operators use and how the final shot will look? ie. close up, wide shot, etc.

Fantastic episode! I try to learn something new every time I'm on set. Most importantly, however, I view every other person on set (actors, directors, DP's, PA's, etc) as my equals. I take agency and ask for what I need and ask questions when I need clarification, and I also realize part of my job is to make everyone else's job as easy as possible, and I let them know that's my mindset. I find it gives them more freedom and comfort in telling me what they need. It's one big team working towards the same goal, and that's imperative to remember.

For us introverts, it can tough to be proactive. It's why Day 2 is always such a gift. If I'm blessed with more than 1 day on set, that second day feels soooo much better, because now we all know each other. Day 1 feels like a constant climb as new people keep getting thrust in your face.

Hahaha! That’s what a wide angle lens will do!

I would like to hear this interview from a great directors viewpoint. Most of these questions are geared for directors, not that I don't appreciate a DP's viewpoint.

Great interview. I especially enjoyed his questions as well. A side note. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that Tom was placed to where the “horns” from the steer painting were sticking out perfectly out of his head? 🤔

Ha! Didn't notice. That wide shot was not scrutinized very well, since it was just my iPhone on the wide-angle lens. The dangers of setting cameras up without a crew!

Both are also wearing different colored shirts, if watching well enough 🤭
