It's such a great video for us who want to know more about acrylic. I love playing with acrylic, but I haven't gotten my license, and I needed a little more explainable for acrylic application, and now I will try it again with proper instruction. You are sincerely one of my favorite nail techs on KZitem. Your ability to instruct is fantastic. If you're thinking about doing a shaping video, I'd love that. I find that I'm a perfectionist, and it makes working with acrylic difficult. I have stopped trying for quite a while because I felt like I reached a wall in knowledge, but this inspires me.

How great is it to see someone taking newbies step by step through the process. So well explained! I see so many young ones starting up a KZitem channel with no experience whatsoever and it kinda makes me angry that they feel they have earned a right to teach others how to apply acrylic. They end up with 3/4 of the product on their paper towels. Terrible. I don’t say anything I just can’t watch. I want them to put in the practice and later, maybe, until then though, learn. Great job ❤️🇦🇺

I completely understand that feeling. I love watching newbies try and get the hang of things. It always takes me back to the beginning. The days when I wanted to give up and just thought I sucked soooo bad, haha, and would be like, you know what... SCREW this, lol. I really like watching peoples progress too, kind of fun to watch someone learn and watch their passion grow. But I completely understand that feeling because a lot of the time, it seems like a lot of people aren't open to taking advice or constructive criticism at all. Any kind of suggestion is instantly an attack. I hope you are having the best weekend ever Barb. You are wonderful, and I am sending you so much love and appreciation! Xoxo

Hey, I've learned so so SOOOO much from YT college myself. There's nothing wrong with that at all! I love hard gel also. It's amazing that it doesn't get affected by monomer or acetone. That's why most people love it who can get it down! Took me a while with hard gel, also lol. Polygel was the easiest for me it's the perfect mix of both worlds! I think once you get polygel down, you'll want to take a shot at acrylic, and I would definitely start with an odorless so you have the time to play around with it. Thank you so much for the kind words. I know your grand niece is absolutely STUNNING! You are wonderful and amazing, and I appreciate you so much . I am sending you so much love. Xoxo

Great video. I learned using med setting monomer and polymer but outside (monomer smell in the house wasn’t being enjoyed😂) in Arizona in the summer so my beads were freezing up as if I were using fast setting and I was very frustrated. Forget doing ombres. I thought something was wrong with me. Side note. I have run into issues with yellowing clear. Like how the first bead of clear that’s dry on your table is so dark and not clear? I quit using young nails clear because of that. Ofc it’s not that yellow on the nail but I do a lot of encapsulation and need clarity. I’m not a fan of kiara sky’s colored acrylics but their clear is CLEAR. I ordered the bag of clear you showed here too so hoping it’s super good 😊
@HaleyDawn85
6 күн бұрын
Oh yeah, I bet that was frustrating as all hell in Arizona! I've done a set or 2 of my nails outside in the beginning, too, and remember how much of a pain in the ass that was! Yeahhhh! You've got a good eye, I was wondering who was going to say something about that bead on my towel. I've started to use other clear powders because of that. When I first started noticing it I thought maybe it was because I've had this powder for a minute but then thought maybe it was the monomer I was using because honestly I had never noticed now yellow it turns before until probably the last year or 2 using the young nails powder. The Nenas is what I've been using recently, and it has been great for me so far. I'm not a fan of kiara sky colored powders either, but I will absolutely check out their clear. Are there any other clear powders you find yourself reaching for a lot? You are awesome, Jen, and I appreciate you so much. I hope your weekend has been as beautiful as you are! Xoxo.
@getnails_byjen2726
6 күн бұрын
@@HaleyDawn85 no o you’re awesome! 😂💯🎈👏 I just received my bag of Nenas and it’s GREAT. Texture and workability is fab. I also notice with clears either they run or the beads won’t firm up even when polymerized. I like to sculpt more than apply acrylic (I don’t mean forms) but I like to use firm, dense beads. So I dislike a clear that isn’t springy that doesn’t give me that firm pushback. Most are wimpy and muddy feeling if that makes sense. Notpolish clear bead texture is perfect. Like their covers. But it yellows and gets cloudy when used dense. So much so that I’ve encapsulated a whole dark/bright pink flower nail once and couldn’t even see the design. And notpolish is my FAV acrylic. I say all that to say since then and the yellow young nails I’ve been on a clear quest. Kiara Sky is literally CLEAR even when picking up a dense bead. And if gives the pushback but only after it runs first. It’s strange. You pick it up like every other bead and lay it down and it’s gorgeous. As soon as you begin to work the bead tho it starts running then firms back up. So if you’re not expecting that you could think it’s going to always or keep running and if you don’t expect it you start to try to control it and that gets it stuck in your brush 🙄..especially if you’re doing a set where all 10 nails need to be encapsulated. My fav clear of all time that meets all criteria, I can work as large and dense as I want, gives the firmness, doesn’t run, lets me sculpt, stays clear, no bubbles (and Ik bubbles are from the tech but with a good powder it can be very limited) is from Acrylicure. And she no longer sells products. 😫😫 so I would have been using Kiara Sky once I run out of Acrylicure clear. But! This Nenas so far is giving me Acrylicure clear. I have a set I’m working on now and plan to use it to encapsulate 4 full length nails so I’ll lyk. All I’ve done so far is swatch it on my table towel and a swatch stick and I LOVE it. Speaking of table towels are you aware of young nails table towels? Ahhh.. luxury. I accidentally ran across them once and you have to search their page. It always looks like they don’t have them but they do. Usually $25 for a pack. HUGE pack that lasts a long time (they as large as your table) but I wait for their site wide sales and get it for $15. I don’t use them to cover my table. I use them in place of the Viva paper towels or a shop towel. So I cut into 9s and use to wipe my brush while working. I haven’t had to clean a brush in years. I use those and a soaking cup with monomer only in it and life has been smooth sailing! Lol! They are like the largest softest lint free wipe you’ve ever used. I love them! Idk what made me think of that 🤔 🤔🤣🤣
@HaleyDawn85
6 күн бұрын
@getnails_byjen2726 Yes!! I was really hoping you'd like it. It's become my favorite over the last couple of weeks. I've had it for a long time now but only used it for my glitter mixes. I was a dumb ass and didn't think about using it by itself, hahah. Blonde moment. I was seriously impressed with how much I like it, honestly. Especially for the price. When I bought it, they only sold it on their little esty shop, and then I saw it at a beauty supply place last year, I think, so I was excited to see it on Amazon. I totally know what you're meaning about your beads. I'm the opposite, I do like some bounce back, but I run my beads wet. I like to pat and brush at the same time, and for myself, I find I like a wet ratio. I'm slower with my application, though. If I was faster, I would absolutely want it how you prefer to work them. I will absolutely check out the kiara sky clear. Have you tried the MelodySusie clear yet? I just started watching acrylicure, actually, she is AWESOME. Maybe she will start selling products again at some point! Because I'd love to try it if you like it that much! I'm thinking Nenas is going to be the one I stick with for a while now because of how much I like it. Maybe between that one and Kiara Sky I will have found my new go to products. Thank you again, Jen, for being so awesome. I genuinely love having convos like this. You are awesome and I appreciate you so much. Xoxo

Hey Haley! 🤗 Oh thank you for sharing this. I've dabbled in acrylics and I love it. Just my daughter can't handle the smell it makes her sick. I don't care for the dip method. I'm looking for a monomer that doesn't smell to strong.The one I got is still strong smelling the smell just doesn't last as long. Back to drawing board. Lol. Any advice it would be greatly appreciated. 💜💜💜

I'm so happy that this info is helping and making you feel more confident in doing stuff! I have used both Joya Mia odorless and CND odorless. Both are great! Also, I've heard the cherry monomer drops are a life saver, too. Specifically, the cherry ones, though. I want to say they're from Mia secret but i know a bunch of companies have the odor out drops for monomer. I've never used them myself, but I know a bunch of ladies that love them. Those might help a bunch. I'm a weirdo who likes the smell of monomer, so I've never used any of the drops, lol. I've also heard amazing things about young nails low odor monomer, too. You are so amazing, Bramble, and I appreciate you so so much! Xoxo

Hey, hey there! I actually used XL full cover coffin tips. The wells in the fingers on this hand are soooo deep that you wouldn't think these were XL tips. I will say, though, I've found that c-curve tips work much better for the silicone/practice hands for me. I can try and find these in my past orders and link them for you if I can find them if you'd like! Thank you so much for being here. I appreciate you so much! Xoxo.

Well, it's hard not to do when first learning and actually takes a while to get down your own kind of style that works. And I'm not even gonna lie... there's some days where my towels are covered in product, hahah. It took me years to get down a process that worked well for me, and it's totally OK to wipe product off like that, I just hate wasting anything. I think it's the nail hoarder in me lol.

If it's drying too fast, definitely try having your brush more wet. Sometimes you'll think it's even too wet, but I'll tell you, it's not! Keep trying! Once you get it down, you're going to be amazing, and you'll love it so much. Don't give up Beth, you rock and are going to kick ass at this. Very, very, very ancient wisdom says any birthmarks on the head is a divine marking that denotes intuitive gifts, healing abilities, enhanced psychic traits, and esoteric knowledge. It is multiplied on the face. Also, being born with the caul over the face (the amniotic sac) , which one of my sons was. That is why this was targeted during the witchcraft persecutions and the Spanish Inquisition.

Wowww. How amazing is that to know. I have never heard any of these things before, and I absolutely love it. My mom always told me that before I was born, angels couldn't stop kissing me and they smooched me so much that they left permanent kiss marks on my face, as a kid that always made me feel lucky to have it. My mom has always been such an amazing person at showing people how truly special they are. I'm lucky enough to have grown up in a smaller city and was never ever made to feel any certain way about it. Everyone just knew that it was me and that was that. I absolutely love the history you just told me, though, fricken amazing. Thank you so much for that. You are such a beautiful person, and I appreciate you so much. Xoxo

This belief I’ve also experienced in many cultures around the world through 28 years a NICU and PICU nurse. It was clear that the foreign born parents revered their child for this. All babies are beautiful and special, but these babies were exceptionally special. Some of our babies did have various forms of moles, hemangiomas, etc surgically removed and treatments by the plastic surgeon. Onetime, there was an Indian 🇮🇳 baby that had one between the eyes where the third eye chakra is; where a bindi is placed, and the parents let it alone. I’m into astrology… look for something in your first house or Aries. Metaphysically, it’s said that something like your port wine stain birthmark is directly related to an experience in a past life. Ask your the universe, spirit guides and angels to help you discover the knowledge and occurrence attached to your birth mark. Also, you can meditate, or have a past life regression, or just dream and write it down everyday to lead you to a revelation. Cells have memories. My other son has a cafe au lait birth mark on right side of his back that looks like a large knife’s stab wound that memorializes a past life injury. Is all so interesting 🤔 love your videos btw. So creative, relaxing to watch, and I learn alot!

Astrology-wise look for: Aries rules the head, Taurus rules the face, first house is partially our appearance, our birth is on the ascendant, and is a natural Aries house, Uranus would be a unique thing or sudden unexpected occurrence, Aquarius is also unique, different. There may be other things that your birth blessing would show up in your chart. ❤😊

Can I ask maybe a dumb question? I did my own nails for about 4 years before I decided to get my license, which I did in June this year. Yay! But I learned on forms, does anyone use forms anymore or should I start to learn tips? Also, I love your detail, I only dabble in acrylic, I love it though. The smell turned me off but I do have Young Nails Extreme Low Odor monomer and powder to mess arouond with.
@HaleyDawn85

Hey hey! No question is a dumb question 😀 I still use forms and love them. It's really about personal preference, in my opinion. I know that people who are harder on their nails tips are a good option just for added strength and some people have a really hard time with forms and fitting them properly, but for a long, long time, I only used forms. In my opinion, learning to apply tips is a good thing just in case someone prefers them over formed nails. And it's never a bad thing to have more things you're able to do and are confident in doing, if that makes sense, lol. Don't feel pressured to do that, though. It's all about what you are comfortable with because at the end of the day, people come to you because they love the way YOU do things. What medium do you use, by the way? And yay, for getting your license! Whoop whoop! How do you like the extreme low odor monomer from YN? I've heard really good things about it! I still need to check it out. I hope you're having a beautiful weekend, I appreciate you so much! Xoxo

@mary-janem1535 ok ok, so you do a lot of natural nail work then. Not much added length? If you're not adding a lot of length, I wouldn't worry about it a whole lot. You can eventually add it to the things you offer if you want. Do you use dual forms or paper forms?
