Ben I gotta give you this tip it makes a huge difference on BIG fish especially in summer when oxygen concentrations are low. Freeze 4 water bottles and put in your live well, add 3” of water, when you catch the first fish fill up the well. Add a little please release me or G juice etc. if you hook one deep or in the tongue then pour some Mountain Dew on it before putting in the well. Change the ice bottles every 4 hours, lastly if a fish is not doing good add 3-4 oz of hydrogen peroxide to bump up the oxygen. After you add the ice bottles and fill the live well only circulate the water in the well, do not pump more in and plug off the overflow so no hot water gets in when you put your boat in reverse and back up. Surface water is hotter than the depths the fish came out of so you need to keep it cool.

Great advice I hate seeing how many fish die during summer tournaments. Not everyone knows or cares about doing the extra work to keep fish alive. A lake near me canceled all summer tourneys till lake temps cool after alot of bass were doa at the weigh in. It's been nuts this summer My home lakes surface water temp is higher than I've ever seen it almost in the 90s and I live in the north.

I remember when i was a kid fishing with my dad in a lunker hunt tournament it was the classic at the end of the year. Both me and my dad caught monster fish, we couldnt tell which one was bigger, and they wouldn't let us weigh them to see which one is bigger, we had to pick one so we picked my dads and his was big enough to win 1st. We convinced them after that to let me weigh the fish i caught, and it ended up being bigger than even my dads! I looked around, and all the good ole boys were PISSED! it was hilarious to see their reaction to a little kid beating them 🤣

Congrats on the win Big Boi!!! Technique being good is obviously huge but what you (and maybe even more so when you're with the JoeZark) seem to have so in lock step is instinct on when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em and get your scrappy mullet on to the next spot. Consistently impressive, my good Sir.

Man, your the best! Totall class act! No matter what your gonna offend someone! Little tip on the livewell water. Throw a five gallon bucket of ice and some g juice in before the tournament ever starts and fill your livewells. When you catch one leave the airiator on full time and don’t circulate anymore hot lake water. Just a tip from and ole Texan that’s been dealing with 90+ degree water for a long time!

just casually bringing in 2 pretty much 8 pounders in a few hours work no big deal lol. I really wish I could fish with you for a year to improve my offshore game. How much lake study on navionics do you do before you go out to lakes you haven't fished much? I would assume quite a bit. Im curious to your approach on that.

throwing in a hot dog in the well tends to help cool off the water like 10-15. thats karma for them guys that didnt split the spot or go off further. like just a hair further. but thats the best is hammering them on the potomac, land 3-4 5+lb fish and a 70k bass boat rolls up behind you and proceeds to pitch and flip the mats. just means youre doing something right

Hey Ben great job on the tournament. I have a question for you. Can you make the 6th sense sweep swim bait a line through rig or do you have to use a weighted hook for it to work right. Great fishing. I hope the fish survived. We don't need to be losing 7 pounders from the populations that are getting beat up harder every year. As for the life jacket thing, I appreciate the words. But i believe it's also state law, so from that point of view it's understandably required.
