It reminds me of the Greek myth Pandoras Box. But instead of closing the lid on Hope, like Pandora did, you're letting all the things out. The bad, the painful, AND the light, exposing everything and basking in your bravery and triumph. The way you painted the box makes it look fragile, but she is "Keeping It Safe" with her love and care. Beautiful.

Hey Ashleigh. The little brass parts you were holding from your easel set up. Possibly spare. But those for the ends of every mounting point. To brace against the wood instead of the screw doing so. Hope I explained that clearly lol. 4:34

Keep creating, keep expressing, and keep inspiring us with your remarkable gift. I eagerly await each new piece you unveil, knowing it will undoubtedly leave me in awe once again. You are a true artist, and the world is a more beautiful place because of your art. Thank you for enriching our lives with your extraordinary talent!
I'm just being a goof ball, but at the beginning, I pictured her holding a big stick of butter. Art is all about finding a balance that works best for you. Keep up the great work and keep experimenting!

Once again, your work is amazing. This is proof that taking time in art really makes a huge difference versus rushing art. I'll admit, I'm trying to learn patience with art aaaand drawing hands and feet, definitely not the easiest. Heh heh😅 as always, keep making art and take it easy.

It’s funny how that works haha! It still takes a lot of effort for me to slow down and make hands and feet look good, so I totally understand. Have a great week! 😊

I love the colors in this painting and the glowing warmth. As a 'self portrait', if it were mine creation, I see the sacred illuminated box of creative spirit which is transformed into art by the work of the hands...In your hands you hold the potential to manifest and create beauty. It is a powerful image to me.

I just ordered an easel almost identical to that one but it was Meeden brand and came with instructions so I know what those brass plates are for. They are for the shelves. They go behind them, behind the black handled screw between the back of the shelf and the main structure so when you screw it tight in place it doesn’t dig into the wood. If you take one of the shelves off and look at the back there should be two little notches where the brass plates sit into. Hope that is clear and helps 😊

Yahayy, for completing the painting, I really liked it... but the shoulders I did not get it. Sorry... help me understand - I'll learn as well... This painting for me is sharing light or hope for someone who desperately needs it... Last year, when I lost my boy and I saw him struggling to cancer... I needed something like this so that I could become his strength! He is in peace 🐕💜✨️ This is what I infer....keep painting this amazing series 👏

Thanks! I decided to have the darkness of the background cover her shoulders so she was more connected to the background 😊 I’m so sorry for your loss, that is so hard❤️ I’m glad the painting brings you some peace.

the big palm tree look great, can never have too much green in a place🥰 our subconscious mind is usually always tying to figure out how to make what we create more persona., and if that is making a figure resemble yourself, that works for your brain lol

I've noticed that, whenever I paint, taking my time( even with challenging parts) never seems to fail, and it pays off at the end! It's also always the frustrating parts that I'd want to rush! 🤭🤗🎨🖼
