That is an incredible amount of writing to commit to before reviewing a pen, gotta say....props to you! I just bought a "tropical" pack of these on Amazon. Looking forward to trying them out even more after this video, thanks for the info!!

Thank you! Tropical sounds interesting- is that to do with the colour range?

@@BlankFirstPage Yes, reminds me of the range of colors you get in a tropical candy mix. There is a pink, lime green, i think a turquoise and 2 others i can't think of at the moment. Love writing with rollerball pens in general.

Love the uniball pens. I too started with this pen. It's tip is about 0.7 but I wanted a finer tipped pen. I found the uni-ball Vision Needle Micro Tip is about 0.5mm. I also like the style of this needle rollerball. It also comes in blue as well a rainbow of colors. I use them for notes, sketching, and since they are waterproof, I use them for watercolor drawings.

The waterproof nature of these pens is great, I have no practical use for the waterproof feature, but I like knowing my notes are secure against water! Thank you for watching!

I'm very happy with this pen. Easy to aquire as it is available in every book store and can be purchased online too. It has waterproof ink which means it can be used for drawing and using watercolors with it. Writing with it feels smooth and the flowy ink makes me be bolder and more confident with my handwriting.

I have that kind of pen too, it was from my sister not given to me but I saw it from her things that she no longer use, so I took it.. And I also consider myself a stationary OCD.. My favorite pen since 2003 is pilot gtec 0.4 or 0.3.. my handwriting is super small, so I like to use gtec. Love your videos 💖 hope to see more and learn from your videos.. ☺️

The Pilot G-2 Mini 07 is my pocket EDC Field Notes companion. While the larger version is what I use with my common place books. I did like the Uniball Vision Elite and used it for a while. I especially liked that it was capped in my pocket. I don't find it as buttery as the G-2 gel and sometimes if you put the pen down it would immediately start a bleed spot on the paper before you begin writing. I was using the 08, perhaps I should try again with a smaller point to see if the results would be different. Enjoying the videos.

At a similar junction in my life, I chose the Uni-ball 207 Premier with blue-violet (purple ink) which has an easy-on-the-hand silicone grip section. I liked that 207 pigmented ink because it was waterproof and fade/fraud resistant. I still use these and added the new formula black 207 Plus + ink. Now, these are somewhat replaced my Platinum's Carbon Black in a fountain pen. I test all my inks outside in the sun/snow/rain for 1-12 weeks for durability. The 207 and carbon black pass. My wife usually wants the ones that fail (e.g. Sharpie S-Gel). Yet she usually uses a very nice looking Pentel Energel Deluxe RTX with a needle point and blue ink. But it's not waterproof enough for me.

I’ll have to give the 207 a go. Thanks for sharing! I am also an exclusive user of platinum carbon black ink in my fountain pens. Such a great, dark and reliable ink!

@@BlankFirstPage In my country (US) your Uniball Eye is called a Uniball Vision or Vision Elite. I have some Vision Elites in red, indigo, blue, green and my favorite, purple. Love them. My line width is much wider than you would want. I estimate mine are 1.0 mm. They pass my durability test for at least 4 weeks in the sun/rain. My test paper is always Rhodia, but . . . not a good paper for this ink because of a very long drying time and hence smearing if touched too soon. Rhodia really needs faster drying ink, such as Noodlers Lexington Gray and Rohrer & Klingner's Sketch (fountain pen) ink.
@BlankFirstPage
Жыл бұрын
@@ravinwind6860 100% agree on Rhodia paper. I don't have any suitable inks for that paper and always end up regretting using it because of smearing.

Thanks for the great tip, I'm always looking for good pens. I recently bought two Uni Power Tank 1.0 with each blue and black ink from Mitsubishi, and was pleasantly surprised (even though I usually don’t like plastic pens). The refills are pressurized, and should therefore work under most conditions.

The fine/07 version of this has been one of my regulars since the 1990s. It is so smooth, and the ink flow is superb. I haven't gotten on so well with the micro/05, but having tried it again, I am starting to appreciate the slight scratchiness. Pilot's Hi-TecPoint V5 needlepoint was more common in the 90s and still sells well.
