You're right. The flick was not IQ. The IQ play happened at the end of the clip. The forward was able to manufacture the foul by using his stick to obstruct (protect) the ball from the defender. This is actually not allowed in the rules but many good players are able to disguise controlling the ball with shielding the ball from defenders. Look at the defenders reaction to the short corner call. He's upset because he knows it was shielding but from the umpires angle it looked like a hack. The red player pushes his stick into the ground and places the stick slightly in front of the ball. Defender makes a tackle but can't touch the ball because the stick is in the way. Notice how his stick barely moves after the strong tackle from the defender. Hope this makes sense

If I was the umpire, then I would be concerned at the defender sliding in. Is he in control? Secondly, I did not see the attacker put his stick between the defender and the ball, so I don’t see how it could be a stick obstruction. His stick is on the far side of the ball from the defender.
