Excellent review! Much better than most. Was just at NAMM, couldn't hear the thing with all the crowd noise. Thank you!

Day 2 noob here - everyone I see strums in the space between the humbuckers but when I practice I naturally want to strum over the neck humbucker like you. Good to see it's a way, thanks

Where you strum matters. It can change the tone dramatically. Mess around with different positions, you will clearly hear the difference.

What an awesome review! I almost bought it but I play it on classical position only so the tuners would be on my legs and I don't know if I could rely on a strap to cover the tuners like another person mentioned here already

Everyone says ‘light weight’., so why can’t I find a single site that specs the actual weight of this guitar? Why do they hide it?

Cause the weight differs on each guitar. All the infos i have found state that it is between 2.1 to 2.3 kg

Great thorough demo. The only thing I'd add to my Q52 is a trem. I've had headless guitars since the late '80s with my original Steinbergers, and still have a couple today, without transtrem. My fav guitars are Ibanez, with my #1 being my PS10. The Q52 is one of the most versatile, playable great sounding guitars I own.

By far this is the best review I have seen for this guitar. I was going to get the new version of it, as a 7s player what disappointed me was the scale length, Ibanez did standard on 7s, the 7th string tends to get muddy.

I like the "More Paul" setting best.

Great review! I have the HSS configuration and am really impressed with the guitar‘s tonal variety and overall flexibility. I found the pickups a bit harsh at first but meanwhile I really dig them. BTW did you try to attach your guitar strap to both of the lower strap pins? My guitar strap fortunately has its holes exactly in the right position so that the tension of the strap is high enough to use it as a protection for the tuners while the guitar rests towards my leg. Does my description make sense? Good luck😊

Just waiting for Ibanez to slap a trem on it... And they'd probably have to make the body a little thicker. The zero fret and the odd neck profile on Strandbergs helps me not care about how expensive they are.

awesome thanks - im not hearing any .. lovable clean tone. No distinct character like a tele or strat. You reckon it gets close enough ?

These pickups are rather hot. Definitely capable of some rich clean tones, but not gonna compare to a good strat if that is the tone you are seeking.
