£18 vs £105. The Behringer costs 6x less and sounds 99% similar. Therefore, Behringer for me.

Andrew Fernie not only that, but the connections are terrible. It doesn’t take much for a cable to slip out of the pedal- I see huge potential for it coming unplugged during a gig

I have owned the Behringer TO100 since 2004. It sounds great and has held up very well. I have a few Behringer pedals, my latest being the Vintage Phaser which is a clone of the Small Stone phaser by Electro Harmonix. Most of the Behringer pedals are in the $25 range and do a great job duplicating the sound of the pedal they are modeled after.

Nice video. I own almost every Ibanez TS pedal made except an original 808. I have the original TS9, two TS10, The Super Tube (1985 short lived release), a TS5 (yes with a plastic case), a TS7 and the Ibanez Tube King with a 12AX7 tube. I also own the Behringer TO100 and TO800. You have to a really picky to hear a difference between a Behringer TS100 and the Ibanez TS9. These Behringer pedals duplicate the Ibanez TS9 and 808 very well at a fraction of the cost. How hard is it these days for a person with an electronics background to open an original TS9 and duplicate it part for part? There is no "secret suace" or mystery. All the components are easily available including the original IC chips used in the original Ibanez pedals and the original Ibanez schematics are on the internet. If you can afford to buy the Ibanez reissues that's OK they are great but the Behringer's will do the same job at a fraction of the price. Sermon over.

Both sound good and very similar. Behringer did well. You should make the switches every 4 bears or so so we can get a better idea of how they compare

The Behringer has a little softer tone, but they're about the same aside from that minor difference. I actually prefer the Behringer; it's a little easier on the ears.

I prefer the Behringer because it has the knobs marked "MIN" and "MAX" so you know which way gives you more. On the Ibanez you have no idea which way is which. You could be playing live and accidentally turn the level way down instead of way up which would be way embarrassing. The Tone knob however was a little confusing on the Behringer because it seems to just be saying "Hello" 2 different ways. Turn it to the left and it says 'ello like yer British but turn it to the right and it says hi like yer American, I dunno.

That behringer sounds a hell of a lot better than I was expecting, having a few dissapointing behringer pedals my hopes weren't too high, but I'd still rather pay the extra, despite what everyone's saying I think the tube screamer has a little more going on but it's almost identical so could theoretically just be the fact that no riff will ever be played identically, I'd definitely rather have tougher casing though, I've never broken a behringer pedal in about 10 years but I still feel like they're flimsy!

Thanks for the comparison, very useful. The two pedals sound THE SAME ..98-99% ok? And the only difference with seem to hear, is just because we KNOW they are two different pedals...otherwise noone woul tell they are two, but just one and only for all the clip. So behringer wins, bought for 20 euros shipped. Cheers

They don't sound that similar but the difference isn't necessarily a better/worse difference. I maybe slightly prefer the behringer. I'm not really a fan of the tube screamer sound so I probably wouldn't buy either. As a general principle though, I wouldn't pay 5 times as much for a pedal that didn't really sound any better. On the other hand, the tube screamer can be modded more easily than the behringer, which I like to do, so maybe I would pay 5 times as much...
