I've been looking for more information about both IBIS Styles hotels in Tokyo, thanks a lot for your videos. Nice length and very informative.

Is there extra fee for using onsen in property?
@doolyb

No it's totally free but just check the opening times as they are closed for a few hours over lunch time. Also female and male onsen are separate if that matters.

Hi, May I know which one will you recommend us to stay? Ibis Styles Ginza or Ibis Styles Ginza East?

Hi Andreas, what are your plans? what do you want to do while in tokyo? this is what i think in general: for 2 people who will explore all of Tokyo by train (but not interested in Ginza as the main focus because maybe you have been there before, or not interested in shopping) I would probably choose Ginza East because the rooms are slightly larger, its often cheaper and the hotel is newer and distance to subway is the same. But if it was my first time in Tokyo and I wanted to be right in the middle of Ginza, especially for shopping everyday in the shops there i would choose ibis Ginza because of the location. But good luck trying to fit your shopping in the room because they are tiny😂 if hotel breakfast is important to you then ginza is better but to be honest there are so many options outside the hotels that you should not really let that influence you unless you get breakfast for free as a platinum member and you want to save money. As for the onsen remember men and women are separate so that might make it redundant.

@@doolyb thank you for the fast reply, we are a family of 3 adult and 1 child (1 year old). Actually it will be our last 2 nights in Tokyo as we come back from Osaka, We have booked Mercure Tokyo Ginza in the first week and We've tried to book again for 1 Privilege Room that can fit 4 persons but it's fully booked and the price goes crazy as it's peak season in the end of March. Looks like Ibis Styles Ginza East with 2 rooms will be the answer as it's only used to sleep. So glad found your video and help me to decide. I am a platinum member as well, is the any special treatment did you get while stay there with the platinum status other than free breakfast? Thank you.

@@ndrs388 at Ginza I got to choose a drink and snack for free, but at ginza east I didn't. But remember I was there about 1month or less after it opened so perhaps now they also give a drink or snack too! The mercure can be crazily expensive sometimes! And I'm am very glad that the video was helpful! I am also hoping to go back in Sept and try out the new mercure Hibiya and mercure haneda airport! Have great time and if you have any more questions please let me know or write to me on Instagram also under dooly travels👍

Is it far from the metro or JR? Any convenient shop nearby? Thx!

It's not too far from the Takaracho metro station about 5 or 7 minutes walk. Or a 10 minute walk to the hatchobori and hatchobori-nichome JR stations! Also a good sized 7 eleven is just around the block maybe 2 or 3 mins walk with every goodie you can imagine 😁

Yes, i think it is safe. The route is well lit except 1 part where you go under a bridge but it is very short and on a main road.

What breakfeast did you enjoyed the most? the tokyo ginza or the tokyo ginza east?
@doolyb
2 ай бұрын
Definitely 100% Ginza because it is in the Thai restaurant and so you get a choice of 3 breakfast sets, Thai, Continental and American style. Portions were big too!
@doolyb

Ginza East was maybe one of the simplest and blandest breakfasts I've ever had at a Japanese hotel. I mean everything was cooked well but there was no flavour explosion like the Thai breakfast set at the older Ginza ibis

@@valdemirsonni also don't forget the east also has foot massagers in the rooms! Also nice after a long walk. It's really not easy to choose between the 2😅
