I've since got it working! :D Check it out here: • Beamship update (or: h...
Today we look at one of the most unique pieces in my collection; the IBM "beamship" 4978 keyboard. Essentially a beamspring battleship, this is one of those pieces I just HAD to get :D . There's a great amount of history behind these old IBM keyboards, of which I will present a little piece today. Part of its history, particularly the bits about "keyboard B" and "keyboard F", was made possible by some sterling work posted on Deskthority. Hope you enjoy the video! :D Maybe there will be a follow-up someday!

The practice sentence was: "Hello my name is Thomas and I'm typing on an IBM 4978 right now. I really hope you enjoyed this review as much as I enjoyed toying around with this fantastic keyboard!"
