Hi Tom, Thank you for sharing your video. Regarding the effect of NB, it would have been better to put you on a free frequency first. Then possibly a QSO to show a possible alteration of the modulation of the station listened to or of its QRI. 73 de Steph F5NZY.

Thanks. Those are good thoughts. There’s always room for a follow up video.

I have a 7100 in my F250 with coil on plug ignition. I’ve bonded the truck in numerous places and still get the same noise you’re getting. The NB is excellent for hf. I wish they had an equivalent for FM. Weaker repeaters get affected by the same noise.

Have you done a series specially on how to setup and use the DTAR on the 7100? Perhaps i missed it?

Hi. I haven’t yet. I did do 3 videos on DSTAR with the IC-705. The setup on that radio is very very similar. The first in the series is here: IC-705 A to Z #6 DSTAR Part 1 - The basics kzitem.info/news/bejne/lm-iyWGbsl92doo

Since I own a 7100 your channel probably contains the most useful and valuable information of all the channels I’m subscribed to.
