I've never ridden a motorcycle before. At almost 60, I don't want a two wheeler. Just something to run to work and around town. A Harley Servi-Car would be great. But they don't grow on trees. And the other trikes look way too hot or are too expensive. This is starting to look pretty good. Self assembly is doable. Though I might get bigger tires and maybe hack some kind of mini trunk. Perhaps rust-proof some of the vulnerable parts. Any advice for a novice?

You mentioned road conditions shake and rattle the trike so to speak . I wanted to convert my helix to a trike for slower and sometimes rougher roads . not a very experienced rider tho practicing .would you recommend the conversion ?

The Helix is one sweet ride. I can not "recommend " a trike kit, but I cant say to NOT put on on either. As long as it is a good reputable kit and not something John Doe scrapped together in his basement then I cant see any real harm in one. If you dont like it, you can always remove it and resell it. 😉

I really do believe I could turn this China thing into a really good trike. Needs: New *better* front fork oil & springs, better rear shocks, re-jetted carb, hi flow pod style air filter, higher flowing single outlet exhaust system, 23g DR sliders w. 1500 RPM clutch & contra springs, and a re-foamed and reshaped seat with better (more compliant) seat cover. The question is not *IF* it can be done, it is WHY do it if the wife is never gonna ride it! hahahah! As for me, I like being on TWO wheels much better! :-D

I love this trike. It is very big though! But still trikes are very limited there is no cvt/automatic trikes other than gy6s (China bikes) and the other trikes start at like $10,000 for a mp3 the can-ams are like 2xs that this bike here is only like $6,000 depending on where you get it dropped at your door! You do need to de-china-fi it! For another $1,000 in parts (All Taiwanese parts) and you end up with a very fast nice looking fun trike! Topping around 75-80mph easy getting there fast!

300cc??? I saw the 63mph and assumed it was a 150cc like mine was. Okay yeah something doesn't seem right there! When my top end was getting weak, it was usually my belt has worn its width and/or length stretched out too much. Ugh I hate CVTs... It should stand for "Continuously Varying Topspeed" ! 3:15 - I know *exactly* that feeling , I always felt the same about my bike. I always felt if my scooter had manual gears it would easily hit 70.

what sucks is knowing the "63" is actually 56! :-/ I have seen lightly modded 150 scoots hit 65 actual MPH without too much fuss. I think the 590 lbs of weight, plus the rolling mass of those 2 wide back tires, plus all the wind resistance from the wide body fairing is killing the power. This thing should have been a 600cc parallel twin! :-D With a GOOD seat and half decent suspension that would have made for a awesome fun trike. :-D

Its a trike they are slower its very very big! Almost 600lbs without rider vs the 100lbs on a 150cc.. However this bike needs "opened up" you have to tune the carb upgrade exhaust cdi/coil sparkplug than gearing cvt and maybe even sprocket! O tries and shocks aswell.. Drop another $7-800 and you can get this up to 80mph with MSRP being around 5500 still gets you a sick "trike" for under $7,000 all in all its it's worth it i think

I'll try to spell it right. Zhong Zhen Motorcycle in China is a more than 50 year old company and has an international race team. The tag will show that name. Their adopted name for the international community is Z-Nen cause it's easier to pronounce ha ha.They are imported under many names, one well known one is Q-Link who sells Helix clones among other bikes. Z-Nen is probably the best of the Chinese made bikes. There is also a 25+ year old motorcycle company there.

If you can create a way to get on and off of it, and stay anchored in the seat once rolling, then yes it would be. Your legs really do nothing but help hold your body in the seat & stable. With some light modifications such as a lap belt and a small backrest, I *feel like* it would work just fine. My wife has use of her legs, but has very little leg streigth and is unable to ballance anything on 2 wheels. So getting this with reverse and being a trike was the perfect solution.

The IZ300 rides great on smooth road but, bumpy roads are a totally different story. Mr. Coyote I absolutely agree with your previous comments about the rough RIDE on the Zodiac. But, just like your wife, this trike was ideal for me with my bad knees. I open the throttle and still kept up with a H-D 1800, 2 yamahas 650 & 1500 on our family RIDE out. This trike does have potential and I'm going to see if I can have the power modified up alone with some other modifications. Feel free to check out my riding video on my channel. I'm the one making the video on the red trike.🏍💯✔

What year is yours? The 2016 models went to a softer suspension in the rear (so I was told) and we also found a set of softer riding shocks for them for the rear. Ours is broke down once again. The gear on the camshaft went kaput and now the motor needs to be pulled and gone through. May be a good winter project. hahahaha!

The Zodiac is a 2016 but, I felt every bump in the road. I also own a 2009 Ridley 750 automatic that rides smooth like butter and sounds like a H-D. If I had a trike kit on it, that would be absolutely perfect for me. It's kind of expensive for the conversion so, I'm doing the Zodiac until I can afford to do better😃. Hopefully better shocks can make the RIDE smoother for the time being. If you have any suggestions to make this RIDE a smoother RIDE pleeeease your suggestions are truly welcomed😃💯✔🙌
@miguel360kmc

For a smoother ride you want to upgrade both the front and rear suspension also tires and try different air pressure levels! I love the icebear trikes have/had the mojo 50 q6 50 q6150 and the Thunder150 i really want the Zodiac its sooooo big though lol. Along with upgraded the Suspension you need to upgrade the exhaust CDI and coil and spark plug carburetor air filter cvt and sprocket! Maybe even cam could also look into a big bore kit not sure if there is one for this motor. But everything else would wake the engine up like you wouldn't believe!!! I really think this bike is worth the time and money out the box its ruff you need to de-china-fi it. Parts are easy to find! But you need to carefully measure and exam and count Teeth before buying parts. I got parts on my trikes that are made for Honda Yamaha ATV and quads a mix match of high end race parts 2nd hand broken rebuilt parts very little Modification to make various parts fit and work right
@miguel360kmc

I know that upgrade list is long lol but exhaust is about $150 cam $30 carb $100 cdi coil sparkplug kit (oml/Ncy) $60 etc each part is cheap and easy to put on the exhaust and cvt are the most expensive upgrades but the most needed

Look back through my past videos on this trike. It was a absolute peace of expensive JUNK. With less than 1,000 miles on it (and out of warranty) the camshaft drive gear sheared off the shaft. I literally gave it away to a friend. Last I heard they were going to put a Honda engine in it. At its peak when it was running perfect with about 200 miles on it there is a video showing its power. Or, the complete lack of! This thing was VERY marginal even on 55mph roads. It was dangerously slow on acceleration. We swapped carbs to a better carb, opened up the exhaust a bit, new CDI module and plug, nothing, absolutely NOTHING made this thing accelerate any faster than a 50cc Chinese scooter! And these are 300cc engines! 😡 Absolutely 100% PLEASEEEEE stay away from them JUNK. I am a small dude! 5' 10" 160'ish lbs. With just me on it on a sunny 75 degree day with about a 5-10 MPH tail wind on perfectly flat ground ONCE it finally got up to "65 MPH" as shown on the speedometer. Wich I later found out "65" on the fancy digital dash was an actual 56-57 GPS verified true MPH. 🤦 Oh, and these are not like a basic scooter. They are very heavy to move around (as the break down very often) and are a pain to work on because everything is behind or under something else. Now I have spent the last 20 years off & on working on farm equipment, cars, trucks, and motorbikes. So when I say they are a pain, my life experience can back me up. Lastly, the paint fit and finish is horrible! Pictures and lower resolution video make them look OK. In person, they do noooooot look that good! OH! And the seat comfort is horrid. Now that is subjective I get that. But I have owned over 25 motorbikes over the last 35 years. And this seat is among the worst of anything I have owned. (2nd worst is a Kawasaki Ninja 300 seat!) Watch my old vids on this trike. Hope this helps. Good luck!
