Criminally under rated song. Has a great energy and emotional connect.

Beautiful song, Icehouse are terribly underrated, imagine if they came from the USA, they'd have been more massive I reckon. Very charismatic lead singer.

This song was a Top 10 hit in the U.S., back in early 1988. Therefore, Icehouse is quiet popular in America, as a foreign band.

I remember seeing this on the American Music Awards...back when it was still good!! Seriously, though...this is one of my very favorite Icehouse performances. Never got to see them live, but this was pretty damned awesome for a little 15 year old feller from AZ... I cannot tell you how much Aussie music has inspired me in my own writing, etc. I love good ol' Icehouse...forever. Glad to see Iva and guys back in the saddle a bit. It's been too long. I'm ready for a new Icehouse record!! :-)

I remember watching this on TV in South Africa back in 1988 or 1989, aged 12 or 13. Left a huge impression, and Icehouse became one of my all-time favourites bands. All these years later and I still love their music. Timeless song, and awesome that Iva and the band still sounded brilliant at their 40th Anniversary gig in 2017.

She was quite the ideal girl I thought...my Aussie dream girl. ;-) I have a copy of this on VHS, and I seem to recall that Prince Charles & the dear late Lady Di were there in the Audience. I believe this was at the Opera House...and it was broadcast "Via Satellite"...a big deal actually...especially for me. It was the first time I actually saw Icehouse perform live...on TV of course. Thank God for technology!! ;-)

It's in a lower key! I like it the original version better. This version isn't bad but I am just wondering why they did it in a lower key. Seems like this is tuned down about a half step. Sounds rather flat and odd. Maybe the singer couldn't hit the high notes anymore? But this performance is from 1988. I find it hard to believe his voice changed that much since the song came out (about a couple of years earlier, I think). Anyways, the original studio version is a great song.
