Keep in mind that he didn't come state-side until his age 27 season. Age 27-37 for the M's: 200+ hits each year. Gold Gloves each year regardless if he was playing RF or CF. If he came over a lot sooner he would probably be unanimously considered the best player ever. As it is now, he is one of the best players ever.

If I'm picking an all time greatest baseball team, my first pick is Ichiro. He's the whole package... best contact hitter in MLB history and one of the best fielders to ever play the game.
Ichiro will always hold the best baseball player ever in my heart. Dude was phenomenal. Total package.

After seeing many of his videos, I have to conclude that the secret to his awesome success is his unparalleled concentration on the matters at hand. He has a supreme awareness of every situation, and when he throws, as you have seen, he puts his WHOLE BODY behind that baseball. Never mind his stunning accuracy; his ability to get the ball to his target, ON THE FLY, is part of what makes him so deadly in the outfield. I BOW to his expertise!
