Jonathan Ward and the ICON team put some masterpieces together. I love the attention to detail on all their builds. You could honestly do a one hour show just highlighting all the modifications on their vehicles. Mr. Ward has a really interesting stable of personal vehicles himself.

Johnathan Ward I absolutely love all the work you do and especially all the different brands of vintage 4X4 ..ie Ford, Dodge , Jeep so how come I am still waiting ?? the most Iconic 4X4 there is ..is the International Scout ! This is the vehicle that started it all with Domestic 4X4 so much so that all the other brands Copied the IH Scout in design and concept even today 2018 the new Toyota FJ still looks like the SCOUT II ...When the new model Scout II was released in the 70's The IH Scout completely Blitzed the field at Baja wining outright ahead of the next car by a full 1 hour and 40 minutes ! ..Please Please Johnathan build a Scout !

Great interview, I have been following the work of Jonathan Ward for a few years now. He is an artist to the core. If I had the money, I would happily have him make me a Derelict. Alas... I don't have a money tree growing in my yard. Really enjoyed the behind the scenes look and I am sure his Helios project will turn out stunning, like all his other work.

Just did a brief google. "Production" models (like broncos or fj40s) reportedly run about $2-300,000. Reformers and Derelicts - the sky's the limit, 1-2 million. The client is doing a bespoke collaboration. And it appears it takes two craftsmen a year for the physical assembly, never mind the outsourced parts, the computer hours and diligence in the design. These things are works of art, and I want one so bad my teeth hurt. Mr. Ward is clearly a one-off, and lives on a little higher plane than most of us. Possibly more cycles per second.

I’m not sure why my mind wasn’t blown by this? These all looked like nice restomods of cars people already love. You don’t have to do much to a bronco to make me want one. Singer’s end products seem to resonate with me more in terms of pushing the visual evolution of the cars a bit more giving them kind of a seamless bridge to today. Like what would a 1967 Porsche look like if you transported the designer through time to now. Gonna have to watch it again and think more about engineering than aesthetics.

Out of curiosity how does one "re-brand" a vehicle like is done in this video? I could understand it being sold as "Ford Bronco by ICON" but to completely replace the actual Ford logo with ICON...is there trademark issues with doing this? I watched the Jay Leno Garage episode with the Bronco. I've also seen the Hennessy Venom, a re-branded Lotus. Where does Ford end and ICON begin? Surely Ford has not given up the rights to the Bronco name so how does a private company re-label them?
@snakerb

It’s done via “licensing”. As mentioned in the video ICON has close business relationship with car companies like Ford and Toyota. They’re completely reengineer old classics by doing restoration mods. So a Ford Bronco by ICON would use an original Bronco body attached to a new ICON built chassis. While the rest of the drivetrain would consist of a new engine & transmission sourced directly from Ford.

Stunning fit and finish but they’re just following on from Singer and there work with Porsche’s. Now most classic British marques have a classic restoration Arm to the company, marques like Jaguar, Land Rover/Range Rover, Aston Martin and the the Italian prancing horse have two new departments. The Clienti department with provide a 100% maintenance, storage, transport, pit crew and catering at the track, for most all their classic and limited number special race/track cars and the other shop with do the nut & bolt rebuilds to factory fresh spec with a red book record of the work done. If your pockets are endlessly deep the options are endless.
