It requires 12v, so any decent AH size will work if you can wire it with the proper plug.. I would look at portable "generators" like the Jackery, which are just portable lithium power supplies with built in 110v inverters, of varying watt hour ratings, which also have 12v outputs, and can be used for other purposes based on your needs. Amazon has a huge range of sizes so compare for best watt hours for the $$$.

I use a good size Tupperware and freeze water in it resulting in a huge ice blocks. along with small cooler shock ice packs and the biggest yeti ice block. I swear by the icey breeze when you do have this thing at its peak cold it feels like freezer air shooting at you. I like this thing but as far as the ice goes , freeze a couple gallons of water along with ice packs so you can reused every day without the need to buy ice I got the big batterie and in hi it last about 2 hours, in medium 4 and 6 in low , also I use a rechargeable fan to circulate the cool on my room which is about 10x20. I use it every night to help on my a/c cost and so far is good and the cool thing is that it doesn’t use much water , maybe 1/2 a gallon if that, the more ice you packed with the more it cools . In my opinion it’s an overpriced item but at least it works better than other ones around. I hope this helps

Can you put salt on the ice to get the ice colder or is that not recommended because of the filtration system?
@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING
4 жыл бұрын
I don't see why you can't use salt but I would call the company and confirm it just to be sure. I would just use frozen water bottles to keep it cold. As far as the battery life it depends on which battery you use, the 6AH or the 10AH and also what speed you run the fan on. You can also plug it into a cigarette lighter plug or use a 110 volt house plug in. Thanks 4 watching and please like & subscribe. :)

We recommend not using salt directly in the cooler because it can build up in the pump or radiator and cause a blockage. You can freeze salt water in a sealed container and get a similar effect without risking the salt buildup in your system.

@timjones9128
3 жыл бұрын
I sent Icybreeze some suggestions for future models. I suggested that they add a more powerful fan two or three times the blowing power of the current icybreeze. Also improve ice retention. This has to be done because a more powerful fan means the ice would melt faster sucking in more hot air at a faster rate. This could be done a few ways. Thicker insulation and maybe a well insulated barrier between the fan and the ice in the cooler so that there is a space for the warm air to go through fan without getting contact with the ice but add a small drain hole so that condensation doesn't build up on top of the barrier. This way the cold water going through the tubes can still chill the air. The ice could last for a day or more while running the AC having a well insulated barrier without adding more bags of ice. This may increase the size of the cooler just a hair in height. This would also mean more battery power for the more powerful fan. Then design the hose to cover a much wider blowing area. Ultimately the goal would be to cool a small area like a tent or a room the size of a bathroom the way a traditional air conditioner does so that you don't have to be directly in front of the hose and you can have a really cool ambient temperature within 6 to 8 feet of the cooler if you are in an enclosed area. The highest blowing level could be used for cooling a small area while the lower blowing level could be used to cool a person.

I'll be ready to use mine again for the second summer. Definitely cold and just as cold as a standard freon AC. The only drawback is that you pretty much have to have the hose aimed directly at you. I use it at work so I do move around a bit so I bought a Lasko high velocity fan blower and I'm going to run my icybreeze extension hose to the fan intake and I've found a way to filter out the warm air going into the fan. This way the cold air will blast out of the fan and even cool my entire little work area with true AC cold air which is something icybreeze can't do alone. Basically I've created a true portable air conditioner combining icybreeze and a 30 inch tall fan blower.

This is a swamp cooler! If the coil is not totally isolated from the condensation dripping off of it...the moisture will be reintroduced into the conditioned space. This unit will drop the temperature, but the relative humidity will be very high. (I am an HVAC engineer. )
@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING
3 жыл бұрын
Dude you are totally wrong. It has a water pump that circulates ice cold water through a heat exchanger and the fan blows out cold dry air. A swamp cooler makes you wet and sticky where the ICY BREEZE is really dry super cold air. I didn't believe this thing would work this well until I tried it for myself. There is alot more involved then just a fan blowing air over ice. Thanks for watching! :)
@lukem7464
3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING just because there is a heat exchanger doesnt change the psychrometrics. The heat exchanger is exposed to the condensate...correct? Therefore the moisture can be reintroduced. The reason a conventional air-conditioner works so well is because the condensate is never reintroduced to the airstream. It is either drained to the ground/exterior OR splashed onto condenser coil to be evaporated. Either setup allows effective removal of moisture. The ICYBREEZE is NOT effectively isolating condensate.
@cmacclel
3 жыл бұрын
@@lukem7464 It's a sealed unit so if it condensates it would be in the sealed cooler not in the output air. It's a pretty simple system.
@lukem7464

@@cmacclel ok, lets think about the airflow. The intake air is where? Pulled in through the edges of the top...correct. That air then moves across any moisture that was previously dripped(as condensate) into the cooler. It then travels through the heat exchanger, then fan, then discharged into the space. The condensate is never truly removed from the airstream...hence the humidity will still remain high. Note: if the collected condensate was truly isolated and removed from the airstream...the design would be pretty solid...but it isn't.
