A nurse practitioner is not a doctor's assistant. A nurse practitioner, as the name suggests, can actually practice medicine. In many states, they do not require a supervising physician. They're highly trained, and many will listen to you much better than the doctors will. They're also more willing to work with you instead of just ordering you to do things.

Is there a crash course video on arginine? That came up when I took your nutrient test. I watched the amino acid video, is there just an arginine video?

How much L-Carnitine should you take for weight loss? I'm 67 yr old

Carnitine can't be absorbed orally as well as intramuscularly. You can only absorb about 10% of carnitine in oral supplement form. You would have to take high doses which data support is inadvertently carcinogenic at high levels.

Hello. I am extremely deficient in Carnitine. My total Carnitine is 16 and my free Carnitine is 10. I am now taking L-Carnitine 500 mg twice per day but only for 3 weeks. I am very dizzy and see stars when I bend over and then stand back up. I am wondering if this is related? I am whole food plant based for past year so no steak for me! Any suggestions for me would be so much appreciated. I do not know where else to turn as my conventional doctor seems to be clueless about this.

run a nutrient deficiency test. Best way to see where your diet is falling short for you. I hope you are open to eating animal protein IF your body is deficient in things that prolific in animal proteins. You are probably dizzy because blood pressure is too low due to lack of minerals. Check your digestion function. Pan and Pandas could be an issue.

I have been taking spinach green smoothies for 6 weeks however my kidneys are 50% not functioning. I am now just switching to carnivorous diet for a few months because i have massive inflammation in my body. My concern is my kidney is swollen and very painful and next week dr wants to do a imaging test on my heart using dye.. the left kidney had a lot of pain 6 months ago when i had shingles that affected my kidney. Could i postpone this.

Carnitine is not readily bioavailable orally. Only about 10% is absorbed orally there are several data to back that up. You would have to take higher doses and the data have suggested that higher oral Carnitine doses to be carcinogenic.

Not really...the studies on TMAO are misleading and not at all confirming in regards to cancer. The TMAO issue is more about the microbiome than carnitine. All the best, Dr. O

@@DrOsborne Yes, really. Peter, all due respect, All I see is you cherry picking data and literature that fit your narratives. I can't say it's surprising. Channels on KZitem like this are a dime a dozen. You are not a medical doctor and you have never conducted research or published any data. Why are you claiming you know more. Why would someone trust a chiropractor over medical doctors and professionals? They are not misleading in the least. The data are pretty conclusive. Your audience deserves to know that consumption of carnitine (**at high doses) and doses that are not completely absorbed **might** enhance bacterial NDMA production in the colon and can contribute to colorectal tumor formation...as has been shown by Knekt et al. (In 1999) and Loh et al. (in 2011) for dietary NDMA. 500mg supplements would yield very very little bioavailability. They would have to consume higher doses to produce results. This is why injection is better. But you seem to always talk down and dismiss anything that doesn't fit your particular narratives and goals. In psychology, this is grandiose overt narcissism. You simply do not have the credentials to talk to down published medical journals and thorough analyses of anything really. To be grandiose enough to come on here day after day and give lectures about minerals and vitamins is really telling. And still, Your channel is full of misinformation. You are also quite angry when you read the chat questions and you don't even sign off on any live or thank your audience for viewing (so entitled). You even talk down user questions when you don't like the question (that is unacceptable!). You are rude before and above all else. You are a narcissist and you are only a doctor in your dreams. And gluten free. We are not cro magnons in ice age Europe anymore. In fact, Cro magnon blood is present but quite low compared to DNA of the Neolithic expanding peoples that came to inhabit Europe and establish civilizations based almost **entirely** on and around agriculture. Yes, grains. We aren't cavemen hunter-gatherers anymore. Gluten free doesn't make any sense and most the people I know that do it suffer horribly from it. I don't see how all those B vitamins you preach so much on could be present in a high fat, moderate protein, no carb diet.
