Wonderful memories of Idora Park, thanks for posting, I can remember my mom on the roller coaster was her favorite, she been gone for over 40 yrs. now, wonderful memory. Sad day in Youngstown when it burned down. you can now buy the frosty choc. ice cream at the Canfield Fair, in Canfield Ohio. Gone but Not forgotten, still lives in our memories, THANKS!

I think it's just an empty lot today.... Used to get there two or three times each summer - along with some of my cousins (total of 17 kids) in various groups. Somewhere around 1980, I stopped. Outgrew it, I guess. I started going there just a bit after the pool was filled in - early 50's perhaps, and outgrew the kiddie rides pretty quickly. Eventually, I sort of outgrew the more adult stuff, not to mention the expense. Wish it was still there - could have taken my daughter many times. She's 33 now, and has little interest (although she does get to the Canfield Fair regularly), but.... Nice while it lasted, I guess....

It's really sad to see my city in the shape that it is in today. It was once a vibrant, popular, and fun place to be and now it is not. I'm only 29 years old but I wish I could of enjoyed the great idora park and the great city when it was beautiful and fun. I'm a black man who didn't destroy my city, so to me it just don't seem fair for me to not see it for what it once was.
