this sounds like a 9, it's clear, concise, no repetitions, no stutter, idioms were given plenty, sentence structure is on point. how is this an 8?

She makes some awkward grammatical mistakes that are unnatural.

Exactly! It would be better if mistakes were explained at the end, because performance was pretty good .

She makes a lot of gramatical mistakes. It should have been 7 or lower ..trust me dude is being generous.

I guess that she knew the answers beforehand due to responding directly without taking a fraction of second to think about ..it is unnatural to behave like that way

I disagree with you sadly. She seems to have studied perfectly;thus being capable of speaking like this. Great job Lian!

Just make up a story the examiner won’t care, it’s about your ability to speak.

why her speech is so sharp, doesn't look organic at all, no time for thinking. answers right away like a pre memorized answer, i also got an 8 on reading but my approach was far different than hers.

Yes you are right..She seems ,But she might be an expert speaker..I am a GOLD level IELTS Trainer and my students are habitual to get best bands..Students have to follow some easy and useful techniques,like Using ARE method.Then problem solution and suggestion method.keep main ideas in mind that you have to speak exactly according to all the parameters.

it is perfect example to achieve higher score in speaking going thoroughly each question and answers and using techniques and skills rather than to be judgmental and its better to undertake the mistakes even interviewee gets 5 band in speaking
@7172xyz

She could have gained 9 band but her score dropped to 8 could be due to - She seemed less confident in so many parts of her answer. - Due to which she stumbled upon her answers and repeated the same words few times. Which impacted her fluency at the end. - In terms of using joining words she could have used wide range of vocabularies but she was frequently using “so” every time in her answers.

What can you advice to someone not having problems in some complicated grammar and sometimes vocabulary but still making dumb mistakes in some elementary rules like confusing prepositions?

Read more book and take note of prepositions.

Practice in speaking with real people (English ppl who won't judge for ur accent and skills). I believe you also need to study the structure of sentences and also study of what text consists and how to make it

@@OcelotSF so you mean something like basic grammar theory? Talking about having conversations, I have some english-speaking acquaintances (God, I hate this word) and I watch some movies in English time to time. Also tried some Intermediate level videos which were insanely easy to understand and Upper-Intermediate level which is kind of harder, might miss some info.

@@NOMATfull, watching movies on English won't make you clever. Movies made to be understandable to every-human who knows En on upper-immediate lvl
