Hello Jacky, I just gave the IELTS indicator and I'd really like to say thank you. I got band 8. And your writing videos especially for task 1 were a huge help. Thank you so much for providing such wonderful content.

Can we say in main feature 3: Oceania is the only region that showed practically no change in percentage fluctuation over the whole period?

I have a question for you dear Jacky. What about the 1st table showing the world population from 1950 to 2050? Can we completely ignore that and write only with the figures from the table where distribution is given region wise?

Hi jacky...I'm a bit lost about the main feature 1 and 2..why is Africa expected to increase by 2050 and Europe to have the greatest drop by 2050.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. If you really do mean 'why are these changes predicted', that is irrelevant to the question. The features are taken from the figures in the table. You are just required to "Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant."

Hi Selena. You will probably need to use the past tense and the future tense. The version of these tenses that you use will depend on the individual question. Jacky

The first table illustrates the number of people who lived in world in 1950 and 2000, and forecasted in 2050 while the second table displays the distribution of population in six different continents in 1950, 2000 and estimated value in 2050. Overall, it is clear that world population is tend to increase between 1950 and 2050. Also, it is forcasted that Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania will experience population increment in 2050. In Africa, Asia, Oceanica and Latin America experienced 9%, 56%, 6% and roughly 1% in 1950. These are the only regions where the world population contribution in percentage will expected to increase by 2050. Moreover, while only 22% of population was living in Europe, this value is predicted to have the biggest decrease by 2050 to 7%. On the other hand, it can be clearly seen that, there is only one specific region that has the only fluctuation throughout the years. Asia consisted of 56% of world population in 1950 and this rose up to 60% in 2000 and it is thought that this will fell to 59% by 2050.
