I recently moved from Jersey to South Carolina. I absolutely love the place and the people are super friendly. But oh my Lord, they have some goofy accents down here. After 3 days I joked with my husband and told him that, next time we go to a restaurant I'm gonna ask if the waitress can fake a Jersey accent so I can understand them. Good news was the Lord heard my prayers. the next day we went to a restaurant, our waiter was from Brooklyn. I understood every word he said

I moved home temporarily because my landlord (slumlord) screwed me out of buying the house I was renting. It became far more permanent than I intended when I learned my mother's health was to a point she couldn't hardly carry a case of bottled water in anymore, amongst many other things that are insanely hard on her now, that she never once mentioned to me and my brother.the sad part is. 99% of people my age still at home are there for their parents to take care of.

My wife is Sicilian from Queens. Her mama’s family was the neighborhood. I’m sure you understand. Her daddy was a wild eyed Micmac from Maine that fabricated everything from firearms to oil drilling rigs out of steel. My wife was a wild eyed biker chick when I met her, myself fresh from the Navy and squirrelly as the day is long. Come to find out, she’s a Navy veteran herself. Sometimes the wild eyed folks are assholes (her dad had such tendencies). Her mom was hardcore but she absolutely loved to laugh and I loved making her laugh. My wild eyed wife and I have been together for 42+ years now, far beyond the 6 months everyone gave us. My wild eyed wife is absolutely amazing! I’m still smitten!
