You are expected to be a parent to your siblings and told often if you are unable to do this that or the other no man will marry you. Nigerian boys on the other hand are neither expected to be supplementary fathers or even trained to be husbands.

The older generation is different. It's normal for them to look at the bigger picture and therefore sacrifice their comfort in the midst. Our parents are legends at sweeping things under the carpet but because that's all they know and that's how they were raised, it might not affect them like it would us. I think they deserve a bit of grace, life knocked them and that's how they learned to survive . The newer generation(alpha what what)will be worser and they probably will pity us for how we handle things too. The circle will never stop honestly😅

I feel bad for the young girl and her mom. The girl is very wise and mature for her age, even as a teenager we are looking for the love we were missing as a kid ,we thought if we stayed patient the love will come but they just tell you your growing up and you need to learn to want even less , then watch as they treat your siblings different cus they get a different version of the mom as well as differently personality’s to interact with🙃

A 13 year old is still a child. Its quite disturbing how her mum sees her as a grown child. She still needs your love and attention, don't let her younger siblings blind you from that.

That little girl should not be expected to look after her siblings in the absence of her mother. I know it's normalized but it's problematic because a) she's a child and b) it ingrains in her the thinking that her value as a girl lies in what she does for others. I think responsibilities are good for children but they should be age appropriate.

The girl with the divorce mom, how her dad died when she was still a baby , that’s me 😢😢😢… somehow I still can’t heal from the fact that I will never know my dad. And he will never defend himself… that’s pain is from somewhere else. I feel her a thousand times 😢… I had to cry while watching this to relieve some of the pain. But it never just goes away
