I’ve seen “understandable” infidelity… where a marriage was emotionally abusive and loveless on one end and so the abused partner ended up confiding in a friend and that developed into something romantic. It was a hot mess of a drama. HOWEVER, the marriage itself ended and everyone involved is happier for it. Because, whether the marriage is loveless or not, being so miserable you decide to cheat means it ain’t going to work and you shouldn’t be together
@Olter_

@marklegend2566

@@Olter_ death penalty for cheating is pretty extreme brother. When kids are involved things get a lot more complicated, it is becomes both a worse but more understandable thing to cheat. Otherwise I agree the rational thing to do is to just break up with them if you feel cheating is an option. Also on the original comment I think its important to mention that victims and victimizers are often two sides of the same coin. Not to imply someone is a victim out of their own fault, I'm saying that victims tend to attract and are attracted to people who will vitimize them the vise versa. It is common for a victim to get in an abusive relationship and then seek out some sort of savoir role in the form of a romantic partner, but unfortunately once they leave their abusive partner the next relationship doesn't seem to last or eventually turns abusive, the whole thing turns into a cycle. I just think it is interesting and thought you might think so as well as you were talking about a similar situation.

Yeah... no. That's a good rationalization for cheating but its very dishonest. It's basically blaming the other person for your cheating "I was unhappy because of you, I needed someone else". If you are not happy with a relationship to the point you don't even want to talk things out and fix them, then you should get out of it. There's no excuse for betrayal. That messes people up in ways you cannot imagine. It's extremely cruel and evil to do that to someone regardless of your "intentions". If the relationship its abusive, then cheating it's still not the way to go. Leaving is the way to go. I don't even understand how that can be debatable
@Jefstito
2 жыл бұрын
@@marklegend2566Again, blaming the other person for your cheating is very dishonest. The thing to do in a relationship when things are not going well is to talk them out honestly and try to fix them. If you are past that point, then end the relationship the best you can. Cheating it's never justified, "two wrongs don't make a right" kinda thing. Cheating is a big thing, it really fucks people up and their psyche. You can cripple a person's ability to love and connect with someone else by cheating, hurting them way more than you think. And again, stop acting like it's ok for someone in abusive relationship to cheat. We should be telling those people TO LEAVE the relationship. What's the point of cheating there? It's like asking a kid with abusive parents to take drugs to feel better. It's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard

People say cute stuff like this, but in reality it's a case by case basis, "power" or desire imbalance affects how people make these calculations or even how honest they are about their situation.
