About 70km from "Izumo Taisha" in Shimane Prefecture. Mihonoseki, which is said to be the "place where God lives" in Matsue City, is about an hour's drive east.
There is "Miho Shrine" in the back of this port town called Mihonoseki.
This Miho Shrine is also a super important power spot that appears many times in Izumo mythology.
Miho Shrine is the main shrine of Ebisu, which has 3385 companies nationwide, and the biggest benefit is the prosperous business.
It is said that there are many dedications of musical instruments as a god of safety, prayers for big catches, and noises of people involved in the sea.
In Shimane, it has long been said that if you visit both shrines in the order of Izumo Shrine (parent god) → Miho Shrine (wife and child god), the benefits of marriage will increase further.
The method of worshiping at Izumo Taisha is 2 rituals, 4 clappings and 1 ritual, but the method of worshiping at Miho Shrine is 2 rituals, 2 clappings and 1 ritual. Please be careful as there are some differences.
Izumo Taisha and Miho Shrine are about 70km apart, so it takes about an hour to travel by car, but if you go to Shimane and Izumo Taisha, you should definitely visit both shrines.
In addition, the well near the torii has a "thank you well" which is a registered tangible cultural property (building).
A long time ago, when the drought continued, the wells used until now dried up, and the villagers were in trouble, there was an oracle when the priest of Miho Shrine begged for rain, and when he dug this designated place, water came out. That's right.
Villagers who escaped the difficulties came to call it "Thanks Well" because of their gratitude.
Another highlight is the beautiful blue stone pavement called "Aoishi Tatami Dori" in front of Miho Shrine.
Natural stones and tuffs brought from the surrounding coast during the Edo period are laid on the main street, and the shapes vary from square to rectangular, and some of them are large 80 cm square paving stones.
If you walk here, you can enjoy the atmosphere of a laid-back small port town that feels like you have traveled back in time.
