Great information thank you! I plugged in the ve 200 I got from ARS along with a rack system and it immediately popped and blew out. I haven’t contacted them yet. Now that I know about the fuse I’ll try replacing it and see if it works.

Great points. I just ordered a backup VE 200 from LLLREPTILE. It was $118.98. that's with shipping.

Haven't tried the other VE versions on any racks yet, my redlines still going strong, but I liked the ve-hp I used for my oil radiator last winter to keep that room warm. Also bought it from Reptile Basics, love that free shipping.

With my VE 300 I'm having the thing constantly say temperature overshoot and I don't know how to get it to stop I have the probe right where it should be in the middle of the rack system on my C serpents five tier... And every now and then when I move the VE300 around just to see if it will connect it will connect and it won't say trouble overshoot or temperature overshoot and then as soon as I put it down right where I want it it just goes off and starts beeping and then it goes flashing " temperature overshoot again" 😢 how do I stop this?

I've never had a VE-200 or VE-300 go bad. My newest units are from 2012, got several (and a few other things) through a trade for some woma pythons hatchlings I had straight from reptile basics. My oldest units would be from around 2008(?) maybe...maybe earlier.

I would think you can have that refurbished/rebuilt? Very basic parts I bet inside those. Contact straight to VE.

Those VE thermostats are insanely simple for how expensive they are. You could build one out of a ESP8266 for like 1/10th the price. That said, a fuse is easily replaceable.

Got to be honest with you I run one ve 300 * 2 I've never had issues with it I'm not going to sit here and Bash them but I've switched to spider robotics mostly because I run radiant heat panels I keep Burmese pythons my roommate keeps ball pythons but I have fuses on deck for my ve and my spider robotics for this reason but I have heard I don't know if you're aware I'm sure you probably are but when the ve thermostats fail sometimes they fail wide open hence why I've switched I run pro products radiant heat panels so even if my one ve did fail in the open position Bob over at pro products designs these heat panels so even if they run wide open your snakes will be hot but it will never get hot enough to kill them because they're actually made for the size of the enclosure nothing against vivarium Electronics but unfortunately that's just one flaw I've never had happen but I could never risk with my kids because the spider robotics will literally just shut off if there's any probe issues and I'd rather have no heat than excessive Heat as I keep my snake room and around 77 anyways awesome video though because I've never had to change a fuse yet I know where it's at but watching you do it and seeing it definitely helps cool info man as usual great video

I thought they have a lifetime warranty on the VE thermostat I would check before you throw it out you should be able to get it replaced for nothing

I’d say if you’re having work done just unplug ahead of time.
