@Aubrey Why? I love the carrots since I'm a baby, why my mom wouldn't give carrots to my baby me? Btw, no one it's depriving her from candys, the mom is just teaching her to eat veggies. Thing that it's not wrong, thats why japaneses have the longest life expectancy. And it's super healthy, just google the effects of glucose spikes in childs. Idk why the goverments allow everyone to be parents ;-; poor innocent childs.

When I was a kid, my mom kept giving me carrots. Her trick was: “Look, mommy has a big carrot. But of course, since you’re little, I’ll give you a baby carrot! It’s mommy’s favorite! Can it be your favorite too?” It also helped that she gave me ranch with it. 😂

No convincing us when we were kids, we were hungry most of the time so anything my mom made us we ate. Choosing to eat vegetables or not. First world problems because now as a parent my child dislikes most of the vegetables I eat, so I simply let them not eat it. When they ask for food or are hungry later? I serve them the vegetables they didn’t eat and of course no dessert, no going to the park, and no media time for them either. She’s eating a lot more vegetables now.

Righttt broccolis are deliciousss Andd also bcs you guys seem sweet, i want to tell you something i've only recently learned (i wish i could've known earlier but) I have bad sight, and i want you guys to know how to prevent it. To keep their eyesight healthy, balance out how your kids use their eyes, if they were using near vision (playing on their phone, reading) for a few hours, encourage them to play outside, have a walk, maybe do some sports and have some sunlight for their eyes (don't forget sunscreen tho, important to prevent skin issues like cancer, etc) for the far vision portion their eyes need to train. the nutrients you'll need comes from foods like: seafood(salmon krill crayfish crab tuna herring mackerel shrimps), blueberries, corns, bell peppers, spirulina, pumpkins and their seeds, bladderwrack, kale, bananas, cheese, poultry

Not that they won't care, but taste preferences are formed early on. Sugar, however kinda screws with that, as it is so rich in calories and rare in the wild. I never really liked the concept of “kid-friendly meals” being chips/chicken nuggets/candy/ ketchup..i notice people avidly avoid giving their children vegetables because it is not “kid-friendly” and that they won’t enjoy it. What you are taught as a child sticks with you throughout your life so it’s vital to let them enjoy fruits and vegetables and non-fried meat. * For those of you asking if this is an American thing, I am not from America - I live in Malta. That’s a small island located close to Italy, if you are wondering. We have nice traditional recipes that nearly always include marrows, tomatoes, onions, rabbit, olives, minced meat, rice and potatoes. The elderly (we call grandparents “nanniet”) are our the most beloved generation as they hold on to these recipes. Nowadays most people eat very similarly to Americans with lots of burgers, pasta and cheese, chocolate and white buttered bread. People think giving your child mainly vegetables, nuts and unprocessed meat is “overprotective” and “sad”.

No. It’s not true. Kids use their taste buds just as much, if not more than the idea of the food. Boiled spinach looks, smells and tastes horrible so many kids “don’t like” spinach. Brussel sprouts take and smell bad, I still won’t eat them as an adult. Texture matters. Smell matters. The way something looks matters. All of those are on par with flavor. Hell, even the packaging matters. Kids are attracted to bright colors and sweet/colorful foods. It is important for the parent to try to get kids to eat a larger variety of vegetables, but as long as they get the necessary nutrients and fiber, which ones they eat really doesn’t matter.

As a kid I didn’t have vegetables in my plate regularly, I had grains and roots, but veggies were not really “important” since we had no money and some times could only afford rice and a egg for dinner. So when I had my kids I tried my best to give them veggies and get them used to eating them whenever I could provide them so they would learn to like them. I had to say to them, “oh this is yummy” and eat it even though I really didn’t like it because of almost never eating them as a child. The more I exposed them to veggies, the more I had eat to show them they were good and yummy. In the end I learned to eat vegetables and they are not picky eaters and like veggies. I just wanted to teach them to eat everything so that if we ever were in need they would eat what ever was put in their plate no questions. I have seen kids that didn’t have much and grew up to be picky eaters and I didn’t want that for my kids because I always thought what if I’m gone and other people don’t have the patience for them. Anyway, is lovely seeing kids eating foods without problem.

This is so interesting. I grew up poor too and I was NEVER a picky eater, I ate everything as a child because I had no other choice. Even to this day, I struggle with food a bit because I am always scared of not having enough, so I tend to indulge everytime I can (even if I'm not hungry). My brother is the exact opposite, he is extremly picky and that always annoyed me. I just couldn't understand, we barely had anything, why won't he just eat the food that he gets? I guess your explanation makes sense.

Oh I have so many funny stories about asparagus.. but here’s just one- my mother would and still is to this day, (but not nearly as much) loves to go wild asparagus hunting in the orchards and fields, especially when our town wasn’t as nearly as populated as it is today. We would go out every few months and fill our old van entirely up *completely* from front to back with asparagus and my sister and I would be crammed in the front seat, barely able to fit back inside lol!! She’d freeze it, can it or, we’d just eat it fresh- but we literally ate asparagus with our breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout my entire childhood! And my pee definitely stank lol🤣 I have to say, after I moved out, I couldn’t touch asparagus for a long time after that, but I’ve worked my back to loving it;) slowly but surely.. God bless our mothers..♥️

I mostly wonder what parents do if their kids HATE ANY vegetables (and don't have any special conditions). It's just food. Raw chicken doesn't taste good either. Cook veggies, make salads, and don't like it's a chore yourself - that's all it takes to get kids to eat things. It's not poop on your plate, it's just some carrot.
