I couldn’t agree more with your points and observations about TI. It’s a solid property for budget conscious visitors who want to stay in a central location on the LV mid-strip. I also do like very much the Wynn properties and Palazzo. I haven’t stayed at TI in a while and wasn’t aware there is a CVS on site! Great video full of good information. I really enjoy your content and your fun and witty delivery on your videos. I specially like it when you breakdown your spending and how much fun you had doing it. Keep it coming my friend!

I stayed at Treasure Island recently and agree with everything said. The standard room I had was not luxurious but everything was functional and excellent for the price. The bathroom was nice, the beds were plush and the blackout curtains worked great blocking out the sunlight iin the morning. We also had a great view of the strip south and could see both the Mirage volcano and the Bellagio fountains from our room. It is true that the pool was uninspiring but you can't have it all. The casino itself was somewhat dated and not my preference but it was easy to walk over to other nearby nicer casinos. Also the eating places on the property were fine but not great. There is a Gilley's country bar/restaurant and a Senor Frogs Mexican bar/restaurant among others. The CVS is 24 hours and is directly accessible from the casino floor. The location is ideal! Across from Palazzo and Venetian, south of Fashion Show mall, north of the Mirage and catty-corner to the Wynn and Encore. An excellent bargain for the location alone. HIghly recommended for the budget conscious!

I agree with staying away from Vegas during the summer months and crowded holidays. However, for the last several years, I’ve met two of my sons in Vegas during thanksgiving week. At first, I was guilty about it. I’ve been a mom and love to cook, so thanksgiving has been huge for my family. All this changed three years ago, when we were discussing thanksgiving, and my then three year old, beloved granddaughter, said, “Hey, that holiday is now known as Indigenous Peoples Day!” That’s what she learned in private school outside of DC. Well, that worked for me! Also agree that TI offers great value and has a great location. Hard to get my crew to go back there after we started moving on to four and five star hotels on the strip.

I'm the same way - I'm quite traditional when it comes to Holidays, so I prefer the be at home with family and friends. But, like you, I'm sure all it will take is one instance and great experience in a hotel or on a vacation over a holiday to change my mind.

Hi James -- another on-the-nose video, you keep knocking it out of the park. I always really liked TI, despite its embarrassing pool, with its great Mystere show, some really good restaurants (does anyone remember the Buccaneer Bay Club or the Plank?), the tram to Mirage, and don't forget FREE parking. One thing about that CVS though, I considered the Pirates show the best free attraction in Vegas (until TI ruined it by replacing it with the trashy Sirens show). But even that was a decent freebee. But management ripped it all out to build that CVS, not a good tradeoff in my mind, I mean, come on, how many CVSs/Walgreens do we need on the Strip?! Imagine if Mirage ripped out its volcano to build a Walgreens, or Bellagio (another Wynn development) replaced its fountain with a McDonalds. Unthinkable, right? The Pirates show was that good, I probably saw it 10-15 times. Oh, well, good or bad, nothing in Vegas stays the same for long.

The crowd of people midweek is more of a mix of people that want to relax/pace themselves. The crowd on the weekend wants to go hard because they are usually on limited time. It is much worse when it’s during a holiday weekend. Definitely prefer traveling during non-peak times. I do think that Vegas during Christmas time is nice, but so is New York and DC and a lot of other places because of the Christmas decorations. Also, these videos are really making me excited for my trip next month. Thanks for your perspective on the properties!

Everything you point out in your video about T.I. is correct, yet I do not care for that resort. The basic rooms are very basic: if you have to book the most expensive suite to get a nice room, that’s a problem. I like the location and CVS on site, and that’s it. The casino is too dark for my taste, they closed the good deli, the original pirate show is long gone and the popular restaurants there are basically excuses to get hammered, as opposed to having a nice meal. It used to be much nicer when it first opened. Back then, yes, it was the family-friendly Wynn property, but the shops and food outlets were both enjoyable and affordable. It’s really not that much more expensive for a basic room at the Mirage next door. I’ve had great visits over Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays over the years: cooler weather, less crowded and very nice holiday decorations. Otherwise, I make it a point to visit just after holiday weekends. This year, I’ll be at Bellagio a few days after Labor Day. Midweek will be relaxed, then the crowds will pick up on the weekend with football games to watch and bet on. In general, I avoid vacations over holiday weekends, unless I am visiting family. Looking forward to your upcoming videos!
