I realize that whenever I'm around friends, acquaintances I become less productive. We would banter and debate on football and other subjects and of course someone had alcohol and by the time we departed and I sobered up the day was gone and I didnt get anything done. It's also my career and hobbies which both involves extensive travel so it's difficult maintaining friendships unless its a better than average bond.

When I was little, I was kind of sad, because I was always alone. I felt like an alien who had been left here. As I've gotten older, I still feel like an alien, but I wouldn't give up my alone time for ANYTHING. I enjoy my own company more than anyone else's. I'm in a much better mood whilst alone, I can read, and create. Daydream. Think. Be. Its occasionally fun to be around others but it's only enjoyable for me in small bursts. Too much time spent with others and I feel like crawling out of my skin. It's very bizarre, as I have a desire to Help people, but I don't wanna be Around people. Hermit for Life. Have a wonderful day everyone! 💜💙💚

I just don't understand why those extrovert and very social people always want to talk to me. I'm like sitting alone in the bus station, deep into my own world of thoughts, then suddenly some random person starts talking to me, starts telling his "life story", which I'm absolutely not interested in, especially, because that life story is basically a complete failure, because that person has no logical approach to things he had to deal with.
@Wynovesa

@@tekknorat You probably have a very approachable energy around you, which is something very valuable and i hope you'll be able to see this as a benefit some day... But i know exactly what you mean, sometimes you just want everyone to leave you alone, you leave them alone too, right? In a way, I sometimes even find it disrespectful. So, I actually trained myself to put on my "pissed off face" without actually having a negative mood, for the sole purpose of preventing approaches. Pathetic? Sometimes, maybe. It does get easier. People feel sorry for me as I am bedridden,but what they don't realise is that the solitude of it suits me. The down side is needing carers three or four times a day, which I find intrusive and disruptive. I have never been more creative since my illness and need a quiet environment. Human noise is just that, noise and chatter for the sake of it, people should start practicing stillness and contentment no matter their situation. My current situation was due to a serious illness, but I have never trusted or needed people to validate who I am.

My husband and I are both loners. We love knowing each other is there, but spend a lot of time doing our own things alone in separate parts of the house, or out on solo walks, etc. We are in our 70s and have been pretty much self-quarantining for the last year, but other than not going to our local libraries 3 - 4 times a week, and eating out in restaurants, we haven't noticed that much difference in our usual patterns. We HAVE missed our short visits with family on holidays and occasional meals together, but those are the only real changes. We have no children, just cats.
