Someone write an entire novel, or a series based on this please. I'd read it. The groundwork is there for an epic fucking story. What's this war? What other monsters are there? After getting the description of this callous man and then to hear the protagonist mention this coming war of eldritch monsters as well as the mention of this facility.... please tell me I'm not the only one that felt like this could have been just another report experienced by some foundation agent, and while it is a classified report, it is available to anyone with at least a class 3 level clearance? I loved this story and idea and so absolutely respect it being it's own thing. That said, how is this not already part of the SCP universe? so what exactly was that thing? the hunters grandpop i know but a wendigo? tolpa? something else entirely?
@coltpiro8149

Clearly a man so corrupt by power it corrupted his physical body and broke his mind not a wendigo but a man given to much evil and power.
@johnshirayuki

@@coltpiro8149 you say clearly but at the same time there's a huge chunk of the story we're missing. like what exactly the hunter did to turn his grand pops into that monstricity. i don't think its a clear cut answer as to the grand pops trying to seek power for powers sake

@@johnshirayuki Did the hunter turn his grandpa into this thing? I don't recall that ever being mentioned.
@johnshirayuki
3 жыл бұрын
@@zaferoph near the end of the video the hunter says "he wasn't supposed to turn into that" or some such line and the genies response pretty much was "you got what you wished for"

Sounds to me like the protagonist turned his grandfather into a reality warping monster and he then spent 40 years trying to capture him again, all the whole capturing other supernatural entities in preparation for a war against things that are far worse than what his grandfather became.

The scariest part of this story isn't the callus man, it is the fact something worse is coming and things like him are the only way humanity will survive

When she said they made it 8 miles in 21 hours, I got so confused. The average person should be able to do over 40 on a road, and 20 on a hike. Granted thinking about it now, she might have meant that after 21 hours had passed they had gone 8 miles, while I was thinking she meant 21 hours of hiking. Maybe I’m stupid :^)

Depends on the health of the hikers. The protagonist was well past his prime and had the hell beaten out of him for most of his life, from the sound of it. So he's not exactly likely to set any land speed records.

@@wanderingcalamity360 That's true for the protag, but I'm referring to the lady in the story. From what we know, she regularly went on hikes, and her friend was decently active too, albeit not a mountain person.

I'd haven't finished yet so shhhh no spoilers, but I'd like to say that I've gotten REALLY tired of Wendigo stories, but even if this IS one its told in such a way it's not the same thing rewritten over again. Kudos, very entertaining! 💗 Edit: That took a turn, good story!
