On the 6th, Samsung Electronics introduced the function of charging the device directly without going through the battery at the official Japanese unpackage event.
The official name is the "USB Power Delivery charge pause" function, which is better known as "bypass mode" in the sense of bypassing the battery.
It is a game optimization service (GOS) that works only during the game, and on Samsung's official website, turning on bypass mode is posted as "It can improve performance degradation or throttling due to heat generation and improve battery life degradation."
I experimented with it because I was wondering if it would be a really meaningful effect.
We tested the performance of turning off and on bypass mode, and also measured the heating temperature.
Furthermore, we looked into whether there would be any way to apply it to other applications other than games, although it is a GOS function.
Surprisingly, I managed to turn on bypass mode and play videos with my own app!!
If you're wondering if bypass mode is a really useful feature or how you could have applied bypass mode to non-game apps, check out the video!
