Hanshi Steve Arneil created the IFK Kyokushin Karate Grading Syllabus based on his years of training Kyokushin in Japan and with Sosai Mas. Oyama, the founder of the Kyokushin karate style. It systematically outlines the requirements for each rank. The beauty of the system is that the requirements of each level can be performed in different ways. All start in a static stance at the most basic level. Once that is mastered then each level can be practised in more complex ways (different stances, stepping, changing, multiples, etc...).
10th kyu syllabus is the first level and performed in fudo dachi (formal stance) when first learned. Here is another way to practice it. Performing each technique 3 times while stepping zenkutsu dachi (front-leaning stance), then turning and moving into the next technique.
For those who are just discovering my channel, many of my recent videos are on Instagram. My dojo happens to double as the living room in my home. Currently, I only teach private students. I understand belt colors may differ from one style to another and in Kyokushin even from one organization to another. IFK uses a red belt for 10th kyu. The student in the video is a 9th kyu. Osu!
