fun fact: I studied this from an answer of an example question that I got from a good friend but since she didn’t explain anything further and I just take in whatever her example shows, I came to the exam thinking all ratio of reactants and products being 1 : 1 which definitely isn’t and got everything wrong :’) now I watch this video a bit too late and flunked my other exam which is disappointing af but I still have 2 more chem papers hopefully I can ace those ones. ps. Ik it’s technically not her fault or responsibility to teach me and that I fail, it’s just that timing of everything going on for me was so off, and because if the roles were switched ik I would have go far and beyond to make sure she understands so it’s just a little sad, plus more or less I’m more frustrated with myself and the universe because if I would’ve asked about the ratio I’m sure she would’ve told me too but I didn’t

In 2:47 you mentioned that the charge would be -1 (negative one) so I have a query...Will the charge not be +1(positive one) instead of -1(negative one)? As there would be more number of protons than electrons as 1 electron would be removed for lithium....btw your videos are really helpful for many igcse candidates including myself so keep up the amazing work🥰

Hey man, i just wanna talk about my Ig’s. So basically iam taking my ig’s in may june 2019 which is 6 months from now. I basically didnt study anything last year and i regret it very much and i just need motivation and wanna ask if it is enough to finish the syllabus n practice past paper within 6 months? Iam taking 7 subjects (Biology, chemistry, physics, math, english, math and geography) the subjects that iam worried is chemistry and physics. Iam so stressed
@Cambridgein5minutes
6 жыл бұрын
Hey man. 6 months is plenty of time I can assure you that! You just need to form a well thought-out study schedule for the next 6 months and stick to it. I recall I had a friend that failed most of his papers for mock exams but got As and A*s for his externals (which was just 2 months after the mocks). Anything is possible bro as long as you’re serious enough :)

Cambridge in 5 minutes I will try my best but do you think i can finish the syllabus within 3 months for the mocks?
@Cambridgein5minutes
6 жыл бұрын
Yes. But you need to study effectively. Don’t hung up on all the little details. Rather, focus on key concepts and actually understanding the content rather than memorizing detail. Most of the detail can actually be learnt as you solve past papers

sir how can we find whether a substance is in excess in a reaction?
@Cambridgein5minutes
5 жыл бұрын
A substance is in excess if there is MORE than enough of a certain product to react with another product. If A + 2B -> C Then you need to know how many MOLES are present for A B and C. For example if you have 1 mol of A and 3 mols of B, then you have an EXCESS of B because 1 mol of A will only react with 2 moles of B (so 1 mol excess) However, If you have 1 mol of A and 1 mol of B, then A is now in excess because there is not enough B to react with the reagent A (since 2 moles of B is required to react with it fully). In fact, only 0.50 moles of A will react if you have 1 mol of B. You need to really understand the mole ratios (in this case 1:2) and figure out how many moles of each reagent are present, and how much will actually react.
